Stable door leads onto decking area with out door seating and fabulous unspoilt country views. Out door double ended bath tub to watch the stars. Patio decking area with table and bistro chairs and outdoor sofa. One dog welcome. Beautiful hand built Shepherds Hut, in private grounds with patio and gardens. King size bed, full kitchen, shower room, sofa, full central heating, log burning stove, books. Large decked area with table and chairs for dining. Large outdoor sofa, plus two reclining chairs in the garden. Perfect for relaxation.

The Shepherds Hut was the perfect stay for a couple ready to explore the countryside. The Hut has been furnished to a high standard with plenty of space for two people. We were welcomed with a bottle of Prosecco, cookies & had tea, coffee and milk ready for us to use too which was a lovely touch. The hut was super cosy with the wood burner plus central heating too. The bathroom is huge and has a great shower too.
Great shepherds hut, pristine clean, comfortable and everything we could have hoped for for a perfect stay. Every detail accounted for and all kitted out to the highest standard. A lovely bottle of bubbly and home made tarts, milk teabags etc to welcome us too. Quiet location without any disturbances. Just fab ❤️
Our visit to Shepherds hut was absolutely incredible! Gorgeous views and a roomy space to relax in. Would highly recommend to all looking for a quiet and romantic stay.
Lovely peaceful stay, Kate was welcoming and offered flexible check in and check out times, also offering use of neighbouring property’s garden as it wasn’t booked during our stay. Unfortunately the great British weather meant it was amazingly sunny during a walk out and then we got caught in hailstones and a storm which meant we were drenched and drying our clothes was a bit of a challenge but overall a great place to stay if you’re looking for a quirky accommodation with modern features in a rural location with walks from the door.
Cute Shepards hut in a lovely, peaceful location. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle and yet not too far away from all the amenities. Lots of walks nearby and also within short drive away from other towns and villages. Kate provided an welcome pack full of useful information and personal recommendations of things to do and places to visit. Would highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a relaxing getaway or wanting to do some walking/hiking. Kates place was very clean and well equipped. The shower was an amazing size for a hut and the outdoor bath is a great touch! The bed was very comfortable and all the linen and bedding was fresh. Would definitely visit again and make use of the bbq next time.

County Durham is beautiful, you can do lovely walks and biking straight from the door. The local pub is a ten minute walk with great food and drink. We have Castles, Dales, Museums, Durham Cathedral, Market towns, great pubs and more!
The closest train station is Darlington, which is 15 minutes away. There is a bus stop at the end of the drive but only two buses a day gong from Barnard Castle to Darlington. You need a car for this property.
