Rothbury · 整套出租单元 · 1室1床1.0卫 · 可住2人 · Lovely Garden Rooms in centre of Rothbury
Part of a living breathing house but the only shared area is the entrance. The rest of the apartment is entirely yours and comprises a studio room complete with mini kitchen, dining area, large sofa and TV. The best feature of the flat is the enormous window that over looks the garden and wood. Complete with a luxurious shower room and WC plus a cosy bedroom complete with king-size memory foam mattress bed and internet-connected TV. Although separate from the main part of the house the apartment is part of a living, breathing family home. It comes with a small amount of associated noise e.g. showers, low level TV sounds, bickering kids, treadmill and the occasional dog bark. The noise is pretty much what you'd expect from a normal family home but if you're looking for a completely silent retreat then this might not be for you. That said, we're not up partying all night so almost all noise should stop between approx 11pm and 7am. We're cordoned off the shared entrance (utility/boot room) so it's easy to see which bits you can use but we do have two friendly and enthusiastic dogs that you might encounter on their way back from a walk. The flat is only accessible by stairs and we don't have any provision for disabled access. We ask that no outside footware is worn upstairs (there's a guest coat and shoe rack at the bottom of the stairs).
The Garden Room Hideaway in Rothebury was fabulous. Stunning scenery in peaceful surroundings made it a perfect get away. The accommodation was beautifully designed, with a gorgeous window view of the garden. Comfy bed, luxurious shower, open plan living area and thoughtful welcome gifts. Highly recommended base for exploring Northumberland.
We were in Rothbury for a few days to meet up with friends and to visit Cragside. Matt’s place was ideal for this. A good, central location, an easy walk down into the town (a bit of a climb back up) but quiet and secluded. We particularly like the view out onto the garden and enjoyed watching the birds and the rabbits. The rooms were spacious and spotless. We had everything we needed for a relaxing three day break. Matt was great, very quick to respond to messages and deal with all queries. We definitely recommend this listing.
We had an amazing stay, the Airbnb was wonderful - really cosy, clean and quiet. Very easy to get around Northumberland from this location.
A super, comfortable, well appointed apartment close to the centre of Rothbury a great base for a few days exploring Northumberland.
Stayed for 5 nights recently. Everything about Rothbury Garden Rooms is amazing from the facilities to the views. Communication with Matt was brilliant. Rothbury is lovely - try the River Walk it's sooo nice. Great places to eat too - recommend La Mensa & The Turks Head (especially for Sunday lunch but it's best to book). Fantastic countryside as well.
Rothbury is a beautifully quaint little village in rural Northumberland. It's ideal for those that love cycling or walking...but it's also perfect if you just want a romantic get away that's only 100m from the shops, pubs and cafes.
We have 5 lovely pubs - one with a beautiful beer garden, one that specialises in real ales and three that do great pub food. There are italian & indian restaurants, lovely cafes and some nice takeaway options too (fish & chips, pizza & indian).
The river Coquet flows through Rothbury and there's a riverside walk that stretches up to Lady Bridge and down to the Thrumb Mill.
There are loads of stunning walking routes up the Coquet Valley - we're very happy to give you some suggestions and you're welcome to borrow our walking guides and maps. Some walks might need a 10-20 minute drive, others you can walk straight from the Hideaway. Simonside & Lordenshaws are accessible on foot and the Cheviots are within 25 mins drive.
If you're looking to go further afield then the coast is very easy to get to. Bamburgh, Dunstanburgh & Almmouth are all within 30-40 mins drive. Alnwick and its Castle & Gardens are just 20 mins up the road, or you could easily head to Chillingham Castle or to the site of the Flodden Field battle in 1513, both within 40 mins.
Cragside national trust is about 1 mile from Rothbury and features William Armstrong's beautiful Victorian country house plus, gardens, lakes and woodland to spend the day walking around. Wallington Hall, another national trust property is just 13 miles away.
If you're looking for a day-trip to Newcastle then it's a 45 minute drive.
Rothbury is a wonderfully scenic little village that is the perfect launch point to the best of Northumberland's coast and country.
Rural Northumberland is not known for its public transport links but there are regular buses to and from Morpeth (and Newcastle). You could spend a perfectly nice holiday in Rothbury with no vehicular access but to fully appreciate the Coquet Valley, Simonside and the Cheviots then bringing a car might be the best option. Private parking is available on site.

3 years ago we started the process of building our dream home. We've finally got it finished and we realised that although we've build some really nice guest areas we don't really have people to stay all that often. We thought that when we don't have friends and family to stay it might be nice to let the rooms out, so that's what we've done. Really hope you like listings and hopefully you'll come and stay.
