Rothbury · 整套公寓 · 2室3床1.0卫 · 可住4人 · Ethie Lodge in Rothbury
A self catering holiday home a stone's throw away from the River Coquet in the beautiful Village of Rothbury. Built of natural sandstone by Lord Armstrong of the famous Cragside Estates in the 1870's, Ethie Lodge sleeps up to four people in comfort. It is featured in the Village trail leaflet as 'state of the art' workers' housing of the time! Tucked away from the Village centre down a quiet private path Ethie Lodge is deceptively spacious. Ethie Lodge is approached from the Market Place through a private pedestrian lane and then through a personal secure gate to the courtyard. A flight of stone stairs leads to the door (which is accessed via a key safe) to the tiled Entrance Hall. The courtyard area offers further secure storage in an outhouse, perfect to lock away bicycles and other equipment. In the entrance hall you will find coat hooks and towels provided for you to dry down your dog, should you wish to bring them with you. Ethie Lodge has full gas central heating and is fully equipped to an extremely high standard throughout the property. The Entrance Hall houses the washer and dryer along with storage cupboard an leads to the Master Bedroom, Kitchen and Living/Dining Room which occupy this floor. A comfortable and spacious open plan living space offers a fully equipped Kitchen which leads on to the spacious living room and dining area. The living room offers a fantastic log burning stove which is great for the colder months to cosy up in front of. There is a dining table that comfortably seats four people by the window with lovely views over the Village and countryside beyond. The attractive modern Kitchen is extremely well equipped and fitted with a range of wall and base units with wooden work surfaces. It has modern appliances including an oven and hob and extractor hood, a microwave, fridge freezer, and dishwasher. The Master Bedroom has a lovely king size bed with beautiful old bed side tables, a large double wardrobe and large chest of drawers. There is plenty of storage space here for everything that you would like to bring with you for your holiday. The Second Bedroom is located on the next floor up and has twin beds, a hanging space and chest of drawers. All beds will be made up prior to your arrival and a full set of towels is provided per person staying. The modern large Bathroom has a panelled bath with electric shower over, wash hand basin, low level WC, tiled walls and flooring. There is plenty of free on street parking available within close proximity of Ethie Lodge.
I had a lovely stay in Rothbury - the property was very comfortable and well equipped, and really cozy. Andrew had left vouchers for the local attractions which was really thoughtful. Will definitely try and stay again
Ethie Lodge was charming, quaint, cosy and clean with everything you could need in a holiday cottage. The beautiful views just added to the charm. It was perfectly situated for exploring Northumberland. There were also great walks right on the doorstep!
Gorgeous place, lovely and spotlessly clean. Excellent location for visiting Northumbria, loved Alnwick Castle and our puffin cruise from Seahouses.
The appartment is really cosy and equipped with everything we could need. Communication with Andrew was excellent, and we found him very helpful.
Known locally as the Capital of Coquetdale, the traditional Northumbrian Village of Rothbury is built on a hilllside in the sandstone Simonside Hills. It offers an excellent range of shops, with many art galleries, tea rooms, cafes and pubs. It makes a very convenient base for fishing and for walking into the Northumberland National Park and Simonside, as well as offering less strenuous riverside walks. Rothbury lies near the centre of rural Northumberland, 12 miles from Alnwick, 15 miles from Morpeth, 16 miles from unspoilt beaches and 29 miles from Newcastle upon Tyne. As such it has been a local centre since the 13th century and at various times had a castle, a market and magistrate's court. Nearby Cragside House and Gardens, home to Lord Armstrong is perhaps the most famous attraction in the area.
Rothbury serves as a hub for the outlying Villages and as such has a good choice of places to eat and drink. You might be surprised to hear that in such a small place not only are there a number of pubs and cafes, but there is also an Italian restaurant, an Indian restaurant, Chinese takeaway and chip shop! The numerous cafes are extremely popular with the walkers and cyclists.
Rothbury has an award-winning selection of local, independent shops in which you can buy practically anything from meat to shoes and wine. We have highlighted the best in independent retailers including crafts and gifts, food shops, supermarkets and clothing. There are also a number of art and crafts galleries that celebrate and sell original and local crafts.

I've been in the Holiday Cottage business for a number of years and enjoy nothing more then sharing my much beloved Cottages with my guests and making their holidays as special as possible. I own and manage a number of properties around Northumberland. All hand picked and furnished to a very high standard to ensure a fantastic break in the County I'm lucky enough to call home. In order to maintain the highest level of safety for my guests I have undergone a thorough Risk Assessment in all properties, the AA Covid Confident Scheme, the Visit Britain Covid Resilience Scheme and the AirBnB Committed to Clean Scheme. Cleaning products and medical grade disinfectants have been sourced and strictest cleaning protocols are still in place. I've left no stone unturned in ensuring that everything I can do to make my holiday homes as safe as possible has been done. I really hope to be able to welcome you to Northumberland soon.
