This house is a true gem! Secluded but still accessible and with all the amenities you need for a nice vacation. We travelled in February and the weather was relatively good with some sunshine but not that warm. The house is in the hills and the evenings and nights can be cold - so not so much outdoor life possible. We had the swimming pool heated so we were able to swim. The kitchen is working well and we made dinner ourselves and there is enough plates and kitchenware. Only problem was that the frying pans were dented but apart from that everything was fine. The owner does not speak English but the estate agent does. We had some difficulties explaining to the owner about when we would be arriving but we were able to meet at the time we agreed upon at the restaurant just down the hill. As others have mentioned the driveway is quite narrow but that is the case all over the island - narrow roads is simply normal at La Palma :-) We would rent the house again anytime!

Four of us stayed in January. We all loved it. The house is perfect; stylish, simple, good quality. It is surrounded by orchards, pine trees and nature. It is very high up which is spectacular but lots of hair pin bends and driving is tiring. Walking trails are great and swimming in the sea at Tazacorte a real treat. If you like walking and have a reasonably confident driver you will love it.

Let’s be honest it is all about the view. The place is lovely and so quiet. And as previously mentioned the entrance to the villa is intimidating, it is narrow, and not a lot of room for error. But let’s get back to the view. Not sure I’d ever tire of it. The villa sits 900m above sea level so often you are above the clouds. There is pretty much a 180 degree view of the Atlantic Ocean. Sunsets are spectacular. Wished I’d brought binoculars. Fabio the host was a nice chap but his English was nearly as bad as my Spanish but we muddled through. Tijarafe is a 10 minute drive away and has a couple of supermarkets, the Spar was where we got all our supplies. There is a pharmacy and a few bars. Los Llanos is a bigger town and about half an hour away. The roads on the island are very twisty and lots of ups and downs never spent so much time in 2nd and 3rd gear. I think based on the prevailing wind this side of the Island is the sunnier side. It was mid twenties and sunny for the week we were there, end of October start of November. We can’t wait to go back.
