The farmhouse is located on Monte Venere, in Tassobbio River valley. This spot has been inhabited since ancient times, and archeological finds of a Bronze Age village have been found literally a few steps from our house.
Woods surrounding the house are home to a luxuriant nature and broad range of wild animals: it is quite common to see at breakfast roe deers grazing in front of the house.
Hiking trails (for beginners as well as for experienced hikers) start right from the gate of the property.

The property is inside a unique area, UNESCO Reserve "Man and Biosphere", and close to cities of art like Parma (capital of Italian Culture 2020), Reggio Emilia and Modena. Nearby attractions include medieval castles like Canossa, Rossena, Carpineti, the Pietra di Bismantova mountain and Tuscan-Emilian Apennine National Park. Cinque Terre are a short drive away.
For food and wine lovers, this area is the heart of the Parmigiano-Reggiano (Parmesan cheese) region: best dairy farms and cheese factories are just minutes away, and can be visited upon request (please enquire when booking).
