caution! I found the description a little misleading. This is a big campsite with multiple families on it and a few shanty houses. 2 bathrooms that you have to share with Everybody on the island camping that night. The men's room has a window so that the men can see right into the women's room! also going #2 was a new type of nightmare, as it is so hot n humid that the tp melts on the sweat from your hands before you have a chance to use it. The so-called kitchen is about the same quality as the kitchens I would build in the woods as a teenager. Its an elevated fire pit with rebarb over the top to use as a grill. You need to keep this fire going. Or you will be eaten alive by bugs. There are dead palm tree leaves everywhere, Use them to feed the fire, cook, and smoke out the bugs. a couple dogs live on the island. We kept our food stashed because we didn't want the dogs to steal it from us. The bioluminescence was the only reason to visit. 20usd xtra for 3rd tent. sand fleas in water.

Es ist anders als auf den gezeigten Fotos. Auch kann man auf der Insel sehr wenig unternehmen. Es hat sich nur für das Wasser in der Nacht gelohnt.

We enjoyed the peacefulness and tranquility of our stay. We were disappointed that we didn’t get to see any bioluminescence, but that’s the chance you take. The family that hosted us were humble, kind people. We were happy to support local businesses and families. Everything was as described—it had the bare essentials and nothing more. It’s not a for glampers or people with high standards. It’s rough but charming. We wanted to camp but didn’t have all the equipment and this was a perfect stay for that. There have a kitschy collection of things that have washed up on shore and that was fun to see. Unfortunately, there was some trash from the mainland washed up on the beach. But this is more of a reflection on how we need to take care of our environment than on our hosts. We felt safe at night. The dogs were cute and friendly. They even swam out to meet us on our boat. They can bark quite a bit at night. Don’t expect a full nights sleep. But the experience was worth it.
