This is a quiet, discreet cabin set apart from the others to ensure full privacy. You can enjoy spectacular sunsets relaxing in your large hammock. The space is designed for a single person or a couple, ideal for mature students doing online classes, or travellers who prefer not to stay in hotels. Kitchenette facilities are provided for you to cook your own meals. Nice getaway also for couples who just want to relax in the ambience of the rainforest. Sorry, no pets are allowed.

A home away from home. Bobby and his family went above and beyond as hosts in terms of warmth, responsiveness, and making sure we had a comfortable stay. I made a mistake in booking my dates as a guest, and had some trouble with my car rental, yet Bobby remained understanding and flexible throughout. He has incredible stories to share, not least as former ambassador to the UK who advocated for Belize's independence. The cabin itself is comfortable with great wifi and a rustic feeling. Get ready to fall asleep and wake up to the sounds of birds, crickets, and a family of howler monkeys - and the joy of the Leslies' motley crew of affectionate dogs.

A lovely setting in the jungle with an extremely friendly and helpful host who paid very close attention to detail. Was just what I was looking for during a recent quick trip. Very much enjoyed spending some time chatting with Bobby. The cabins are well furnished and have everything you could need to prepare meals in the cabin

What can I say other than that the Leslie’s are living legends (as well as genuinely kind hearted people). If you’ve every seen the film “Big Fish”, you will appreciate the fantastic Mr. Bobby as much as I do. As far as the accommodations go, the descriptions are pretty accurate. If you’re looking for something off the beaten path and some peace and quiet from the fast life (as I was), it’s the perfect place to decompress. It’s nature at it’s finest 24 hrs a day. Just note that you really are in a rainforest here and you should probably bring closed shoes because it does get a little muddy. It’s rustic, but charming.

Teakettle is a rural/farming village. just minutes away from the capital city. Those who are not farmers commute to Belmopan for work and other government business. Teakettle is known for the spectacular and well-preserved Maya cave system Actun Tunicil Maknal (ATM) which contains centuries-old skeletons, ceramics and other Maya objects. Other Maya archaeological sites like Cahal Pech and Xunantunich are less than an hour's drive.
Getting around to the nearby towns, ancient Maya sites, markets and shopping is most convenient if you have your own vehicle. However, there are regular buses that pass by (a bus stop is a short walk away) and even smaller busitos run every hour to Belmopan, and they are happy to pick you up or drop you off right at our gate.

I am a retired diplomat and former senior officer in the Government of Belize. I enjoy nature and the quiet serenity of the rainforest. I also love people, great music, great conversations and great movies. I have travelled all over the world in my capacity as Ambassador, and have met many interesting people with whom I still keep in contact. My wife, Bernadette, and I are very open-minded and treat our guests as friends and kin. Retirement from diplomacy meant a new direction, so we chose to build three cottages and open our private retreat to paying guests, which would keep us in contact with people from all over the world. We love it here. We are happy to have you join us in a welcoming, uncomplicated environment where warmth and friendship await you. The longer you stay, the happier we all are. We particularly like to host persons who are on short or long-term consultancies in the Belmopan area; newlyweds looking for a honeymoon getaway, couples with young families, or adventurous grown-ups who use our place as a base for forays into rock-climbing, zip-lining, cave-tubing, rainforest hiking or ancient Maya site explorations; also retired couples who just want a quiet place to refresh the soul. You are all welcome.
