Jack's Stay is a lovely 4-guest retreat on the first floor of a popular private development. With a fantastic balcony view of Salcombe church and a glimpse of the shimmering estuary, this property oozes rejuvenation and tranquility from a seaside holiday rental. Jack's Stay is perfectly located quietly tucked away with free off road parking and only a short stroll from the lively town centre. The nautical name derives from “Jack”; meaning ‘Sailor’ and “Stay”; a rope to help support a ships mast. Jack’s Stay is a lovely 4-guest retreat on the first floor of a popular private development. With a fantastic balcony view of Salcombe church and a glimpse of the shimmering estuary, this property oozes rejuvenation and tranquility from a seaside holiday rental. Access to the front door of this modern beach house style apartment is reached by a flight of stairs. Upon entering this home, you are welcomed into the open plan kitchen-diner and lounge. Furnished to a high standard, Jack’s Stay presents a holiday suited best to a small family or friends reunion and a furry friend. The newly fitted modern contemporary kitchen presents functionality and simplicity. Gorgeous oak worktops, built-in microwave, electric oven and ceramic hob, full-sized Rangemaster fridge-freezer and Bosch dishwasher allow for gourmet meals to be rustled up if desired. The four-seated oak breakfast bar makes for a morning coffee perch, while planning your day ahead. The lounge is a bright and airy space with clean lines and bold colours to give that effortlessly cool feeling. Jack’s Stay is designed for guests to relax, take a load off with the knitted foot poufs and enjoy the comfort of the Chaise sofa while watching Cable TV or streaming via the Fibre Broadband. Indoor window shutters open and close, dependent on the mood required. The balcony can be accessed via the lounge and both bedrooms, enticing you in for morning al-fresco breakfasts or sunsets and sundowners. This is coastal contemporary living at it’s finest. A hallway walks you through the rest of the property. The first door to the left is a utility/cloakroom which includes a washing machine, toilet and hand basin. At the end of the hallway, the main bathroom is located. This contemporary bathroom is fitted with a large glass paneled walk-in waterfall and handheld shower, toilet, basin, heated towel rail and completed with a gorgeous wooden floor finish. Next door, the master bedroom is found. This cosy double bedroom is a haven for peace. The large window allows plenty of light along with the balcony door. Tallboy clothing drawers and bedside units offer great storage space. Further along, the bunk bed room is reached. This lovely spacious room offers two full-size bunk beds. Floor to ceiling windows bring fantastic natural light into this room with block-out shutters while you sleep. This room is a perfect hideaway for the kids (Or grown-ups!) with plenty of storage space and draws. Jack’s Stay includes off-street parking for 1 car right outside the apartment.
Very clean and tidy: well-equipped and everything worked. A small difficulty in getting a hot shower - but worked well enough for us. The only drawback was the very steep steps up to the apartment, which would be difficult for anyone with mobility issues. But thank you for a very pleasant place to stay with easy accessinto Salcombe.
Have stayed at Bonnie’s place before so we were familiar with it. Bonnie is a great host and very helpful.

Tucked away on the far southern coast of Devon, Salcombe is an iconic seaside fishing town and one of the county's best-loved holiday destinations. Situated on the banks of the Salcombe estuary, this historic and beautiful Devonian harbour features pristine sandy beaches and calm turquoise waters.
Salcombe is known for its outstanding coastal views and rolling countryside, as well as a mecca for the sailing community with both Salcombe Yacht Club and Salcombe Sailing School. Salcombe is also a watersports haven for kayaking, surfing and paddleboarding.
The town centre is lined with boutique shops, lifestyle brands and independent producers. With many local art galleries, gift shops and places to eat you can spend hours happily browsing and exploring this truly magical holiday destination.
From Salcombe you can take a ferry over to the lovely sandy coves of East Portlemouth and the Venus Cafe.
There is a regular bus route through Salcombe to neighbouring towns and villages.
Nearest railway station is at Totnes approx 18 miles away.
The Salcombe area is at one of the most spectacular parts of the popular Southwest coast path.
