At one time this must have been a spectacular home, unfortunately it is clearly now operated to exploit its proximity to Taos. It attempts to demonstrate southwestern charm, but it really only delivers large suites, pretty setting with a just a “room for rent” personality. While given its location its pricing is probably not out of line, but don’t book with an expectation of a special experience. In addition the property shows a lack of upkeep and cleanliness.

We loved our suite at Cielo Taos. It was huge and comfortable. Enjoyed an evening swim in the pool after we checked in, very welcome after a day of hiking Great Sand Dunes. Only wish we could have stayed longer.

Thank you AGAIN for the lovely stay. To those thinking of booking it’s a quiet, scenic retreat and that offers plenty of relaxation. The estate is beautifully decorated and the hosts make you feel like family.

We loved this Airbnb!! Note, we visited during the winter and had to use our chains to access the property but totally worth it!! The views of the snowcapped trees surrounding the property were breathtaking. Our room was huge and meticulously clean! We enjoyed some reading in the living room area while watching the snowfall. We also enjoyed soaking in the tub. Loved the small details like providing epsom salt bubble bath. We tried to go for a swim but it was too cold for these Californians. The pool room is not heated so it was freezing to go into the pool room in a bathing suit when outdoor temperatures were in the negative. The pool was heated but my body could not hang because the room itself was too cold. Not a big deal as we made use of the tub in our room some more. Mateo was a great host! Attentive, responsive, and helpful. We look forward to coming back.
