Had the most amazing time at the hideaway with my partner and dog. Hosts Berb and Amanda were great and super friendly. The hideaway was everything you need for a cosy relaxed little break. Prosecco and nibbles were a lovely added touch as were little games to play. Little lakeside bar/cafe was lovely too if you wanted to be a bit social which we loved. Got to meet/chat to friendly locals and so many dogs. Little Scrappy the Yorkshire terrier warmed to me and I'm sure he will warm to Dolly next time we visit :-) x

Perfect little hideaway even better if you like fishing. Plenty of space to go explore in surrounding areas. Cabin was really cosy and just what we needed.

We absolutely loved our stay at the hideaway! I took my fiancé for a birthday surprise and he loved it! The hideaway was warm when we arrived, and there was plenty of wood to keep us going. We went to the lodge on site for a beer in the evening one night, and met Amanda! She made us feel right at home. We spent most of our time fishing, we barely left the lodge at all. Caught two great sized carp! Definitely go for a breakfast on your final morning at the lodge, it’s the best breakfast we’ve had in ages. Definitely a camping experience, but back to basics was what we wanted. Time to switch off and no phone signal was bliss. Thank you so much Amanda, we’ll be back!xx

A tranquil hideaway (incredibly accurate name!) a short walking distance away from a cute hamlet with a fantastic pub, and a short car journey to a surprisingly vibrant village. The cabin itself what it lacks in size makes up for in cosiness, and its beautiful lakeside spot makes it tempting to not leave the site at all. Ideal for a walking or fishing holiday, definitely more geared towards folk who can manage their expectation of the countryside! (I.e. no phone signal, ducks for alarm clock) But for us it was exactly what we needed for our digital detox. The hosts are lovely and great to chat to - could have spent hours with Berb listening to his tales!
