Very good house very clean and quiet
Anne was a terrific host for our stay and the place was well suited for our family. The only thing to note about the home was since it is heated by the fireplace, you have to plan your day around the fire if you are going to be visiting while it is cold. That being said, the heater in the bathroom was great and having the separate electric heaters were also beneficial. Overall it was a great stay with a great host.

Hilldawn house was lovely. it is the perfect spot to explore Dumfries and with a parking space, it works great for surrounding areas, too. we had some immediate trouble with the WiFi, which we thought may have been storm related and when speaking with Anne she also expressed that may be the case. in the end, a hard reset of the router fixed the issue. The entire house is heated by the log burner attached to radiators , so it can get quite cold. while we weren't given enough to get us through the whole stay, Anne dropped some wood off halfway through. we had already bought a bag of wood to tide us over, but I suppose we could have communicated that we had run out (we were careful not to overfill the log burner as the listing indicates, and are familiar with log burners) - I am sure, as she was responsive on the Internet, she would have helped with logs too! they have also provided an electric heater downstairs and one in one of the bedrooms, which was a kindness during such cold times.
As ever, great to stay this is our third time. Walking distance to the town centre, lovely house, more spacious than you might expect with good quality appliances and utensils. The kitchen, in particular, has more than you might expect, especially if you have been to a few AirBnBs. The host was particularly helpful and even brought extra wood (not that it was needed) for the fire to ensure we would not be cold. there is also electric heating, should you need it. The house is lovely and cosy with plenty of space for a small family (parents and 2 large teenage boys). Everything works as expected and I have no doubt we will be back again.
