We spent wonderful 3 days at the 1873 Ranch near Fredericksburg. The house is a historical landmark, well preserved and maintained by Bill and Colleen. The accomodation was great, everything as promised and on the pictures, and the hosts relatable and nice people, available for questions and interesting conversation. We came for the 2024 Eclipse and Bill and Colleen made it possible that our Texan friends could watch the spectacle with us, thanks again for that! The landscape around the Cherry mountain is very beautiful, another highlight was when we sat on the front porch and listened to the spring rain drumming on the roof. The animals were great to watch as well. A great and truly authentic Texan experience!
It is rustic. And we loved it!!! It’s an old but listed building with a history. The Mules welcomed us everyday. Our dogs enjoyed the freedom of running the fields. The beds we super comfortable and each room had a window A/C unit which helped with the temperature. I would defiantly return.
The place was just as described. If you are looking for a peaceful, rustic setting on a real ranch and willing to give up some of the comforts of staying in a nice hotel - then this is a perfect place for you. It's truly a unique structure with true Texas history. Collen was the consummate host and gave my kids a small glimpse of what it's like to live/work on a ranch. It's close enough to Fredericksburg to enjoy the city but feels pleasantly isolated in the Texas Hill country when you are on the ranch.
A quirky, rustic and charming place. We enjoyed seeing the horses and slept well on the comfy beds while listening to the rain. Star gazing was nice too. Great location for Enchanted Rock.
Bill & Colleen’s was a wonderful experience. We stayed there with our two kids and it was very room and cozy. Exactly what we needed. Our kids get up early so we were able to go on nice morning walks with them in the country to see the livestock and beautiful hill country views. Check in and check out process was seamless. Highly recommend this air bnb, we will definitely be back!!

Colleen and l presently host several Airbnb properties. We like to try to provide a unique experience for our guests. When we travel, it is mostly with the kids and grandkids, or to meet and visit other family and friends. We have enjoyed hosting others at our property, as well as using Airbnb at destinations for our vacations.
