Natural light abounds in this modern hill country home! Explore 30 acres of stunning oaks and seasonal wildflowers. Soak in your pvt Jacuzzi on the ridge, or take a cool plunge in the dip pool. The outdoor sofa is positioned for ultimate bird watching and book reading. Grill outside, cook inside, or venture out to one of the nearby wineries, distilleries or restaurants. But when the sun dips low, get ready for unmatched sunsets and the starriest Texas skies! Welcome to bliss, y’all. The Birdhouse features total seclusion and glorious hill country views for miles and miles. This 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom oasis is the perfect layout for vacationing singles, couples or families, with a large open-concept living space, a nicely stocked gourmet kitchen, and mirror-image bedroom/bathroom suites on opposite sides of the house. Bedrooms are generously sized with lots of natural light. The front bedroom features a king bed and an additional daybed with trundle, as well as covered access to the carport. The back bedroom features a king bed, beautiful views and direct access to backyard nirvana via a slider. Both bedroom suites can be closed off from the main living space. Bathrooms are spacious and bright, with generous walk-in showers and rain showerheads. Bathrooms are contained within the bedroom suites. Hall closets are spacious and contained within each of the bedroom suites. The exterior space is vast and teeming with shady oaks trees, seasonal wildflowers and native grasses. The yard features a small playhouse and swings for kids, a stock tank pool on deck with oversized umbrella and pool chairs, an oversized outdoor sofa, and a separate firepit and Jacuzzi area overlooking the ridge line, where the outdoor shower resides. Bliss! The carport offers covered parking for two cars. Shared amenities on the property are the main walking paths around the property and the decks at Sunset Ridge. Everything in, around and connected to your space is for your private enjoyment for the duration of your stay.

The Bird House was beautiful! Jessica's directions on how to get to the house were complete and easy to follow. The house itself was beautiful! At first I was worried that because the weather was dreary and rainy that I wouldn't get to enjoy the property as much, but it turned out great. I couldn't use the pool or hot tub, but the views more than made up for it. Watching the rain with a glass of wine on the wrap around patio was great. Also, a lightning and thunderstorm came through in the middle of the night! Because of the darkness preserve, all of the lights were out and when the lightning came, the WHOLE HOUSE lit up because of all the windows! It was incredible! The kitchen was super functional and I was able to cook a couple of meals during our stay. Jessica was also very responsive to all of my (even silly) questions! Definitely recommend!
I love staying at Jessica and Kens property and this home was absolutely amazing. The open floor plan, comfortable beds, nature pouring through every window, modern amenities that still felt homey, several options for seating areas outside, stunning views, wildlife viewing (the cardinals were gorgeous, deer every day). Our dogs were in heaven and so were we. I enjoyed doing yoga in the mornings out at the yoga deck which is a 4 minute trail walk from the house. The place feels extremely private although you know you have a neighbor somewhat close by but separated by trees (no privacy issues at all).
We could not say enough nice things about the house. It is a beautifully laid out house that is nice and secluded at the top of the hill. We love how clean and modern it was offering amazing views. We also enjoyed the hot tub and look out deck. We for sure plan to come back!
Oh, my God. So peaceful and tranquil. Secluded with gorgeous views. Saw a gray fiyx upon arrival, deer while watching the sunset, and birdsong every morning and evening. You're communing with nature at this place. The house is arranged to maximize the effect. Practically speaking, even though we used only one bedroom, had we needed two, it's laid out well to separate everybody comfortably while sleeping, but with a big communal area during the day. We would definitely go back.

Hi there! I'm Creature Comforts Chief at StayWoodsy, a collection of modern, secluded cabins built into the beautifully wooded landscape of our 30-acre property in the Austin hill country. I’m also a writer, an editor, a playwright, a reader, a roadtripper, an animal devotee, a wife and a mother. My husband and partner is a rock star builder whose prints are all over this property. He crushes it on the tractor, and is the artist behind the steel sculptures that pepper the property. Our two beautiful boys have four legs and pee outside. Our beautiful girl has two legs and prefers her bathroom. I majored in literature and creative writing at UT Austin, with a minor and graduate work in screenwriting. After moving to Los Angeles, I studied playwriting with Scott Horstein, who dramaturged for Arthur Miller on Resurrection Blues, and screenwriting with DreamWorks senior story analyst Pilar Alessandra. My writing has appeared in papers such as the Austin-American Statesman, The Austin Chronicle, The Boston Globe and The Denver Post, onstage at South Coast Repertory, and is regularly featured online. I enjoyed a 10-year career as managing editor at a news syndicate based in LA.
