If half as much work had gone into preparing the property as went into preparing the excuses we’d all be better off! The place was dirty, poorly maintained, poorly prepared and not fit for purpose. We should have just walked away when we first got to the cabin, but we were there for a special occasion and tried to make the best of it for the sake of everyone. However, after been forced to stay in for an afternoon due to weather, we then did agree we had to vacate the property 2 nights early, after we were all bitten to pieces sitting on the carpet (not on our walk, which was 2 hours earlier.) We then had a stressful few hours finding another property, and landed on a place just outside Morpeth. We left a 5* review for that accommodation! Even though the location wasn’t as good, the inside the property was clean, nicely made-up, comfortable and an enjoyable place to stay, all thinks that could be said of this property.

cabin was clean and in a lovely location, overlooking a lake. maybe it was me, but it wasn't clear it is in a holiday park. The cabin is next to a cut through from the next door park. Despite this, very quiet and peaceful. The cabin was clean, and well laid out. The bathroom door didn't lock, and there was no plug in the shower, so it blocked and my other half had to unblock it. There was very little toilet paper and washing up liquid. When we called to ask for more, we were told "I'll try and get housekeeping to drop some in, but it IS self catering". luckily we picked some up as housekeeping didn't bring any. There were bin bags and hand soap though (?). Other than that it was a nice break.

We had a lovely stay at chestnut. It was cosy and welcoming had everything we needed for our weeks stay. My children loved the wildlife in the park and the hot tub was wonderful. It was really well maintained throughout our stay and all the staff we’re wonderful and so friendly and helpful. We’d love to go back, such a beautiful part of the country with so much to see and do

We were really looking forward to our holiday in Wendy's lodge! It looked lovely, and the hot tub promised to be a real treat. However, the property was in dire need of some basic tlc. Starting with the outside, the lid on the hot tub had clearly been replaced, with the old broken one just left lying in front of the porch. The porch was "decorated" with a string of broken fairy lights just strewn on the floor. The kitchen needed a deep clean, starting with the oven and the only oven tray provided, which was caked in burnt fat. Cooking utensils needed a good wash before we could use them. Missing were simple (and cheap) things like plastic glasses for use in the hot tub. The shower ran hot and cold at unpredictable intervals. Elsewhere, there was a list of niggles which could easily have been remedied prior to our arrival: tv remote with the "ok" button missing, holes in the throw, a bit of metal protruding from the armrest. We were given a refund for £25 after we reported these issues
