Great place. The cottage was beautiful and exactly matched the pictures and the description. Paul was gracious enough for a late check out. My daughter didn’t want to leave. Hopefully we will be back again!

Our family has absolutely enjoyed the stay at Paul and Olena’s place over the Thanksgiving long weekend. The cottage is bigger than it seems from the photos and is well-stocked for a family vacation - you have everything from kitchen basics to high chairs and a crib, and even a beach wagon/toys if you visit in a warmer season. Paul has been very communicative and shared useful information about the area. Lafontaine beach js a lovely community - make sure to check out a European deli/bakery next to the main beach. There are local farm stands (we enjoyed Dubeau farm), a beautiful provincial park and two lovely towns, Midland and Penetang, all within a short and scenic drive. p.s. My 8 year old said this cottage is in the top 3 of her favorite airbnb’s of all time.

Great place and great hosts! We loved everything about this cozy house - the room layout, modern decor (kudos to Olena), fully equipped kitchen, cleanliness, spacious backyard with a fire pit, location - just a short walk to the lake. From the minute we walked in we felt welcomed and at home. Paul, the cottage owner, went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The place is great for the families with kids - the owners thought of every detail to make everything child friendly. There are cribs, toys, books and even cutlery suitable for the little ones. As i already mentioned the kitchen is fully stocked - there is even coffee, tea, cooking oil, sugar and spices. Having washer and dryer was super helpful. Each bedroom has a nice size storage. The internet is as good as it gets in the area. Paul was very responsive and every time we had an issue with the speed he made a call to Bell and they were able to improve it. With fiber getting installed in the neighborhood high speed is expected in 2023. We enjoyed the beach, swimming, hiking, making bonfire and just sitting on the porch under the bright umbrella. Discovery Harbour north of Penetang is a great place to explore - adults and kids will enjoy it. We also went to Midland and Penetanguishene - small towns near by. Midland has a nice restaurant with live music by the marina - a great way to spend an evening. Fresh delicious fish is available from Lepage Fishery - the local store in Lafontaine. Get there shortly after 3pm for today’s catch. Their smoked trout is also good. Dubeau farm is the place to shop locally grown fruits and vegetables. They also sell honey and homemade pies. Two parking passes are provided with the rental, so we were happy to explore many beautiful beaches in the area. Thank you very much for the relaxing and peaceful stay. Look forward to coming back.

We enjoyed our time at the cottage it was very clean and bedrooms were spacious and bright. The shrubs and trees offered a good amount of privacy from neighbours. The cottage has a good sized pantry for guests to store all their items in the kitchen which is very helpful as there's always a lot of food you need to store when coming for a week with a large group. All the supplies were provided and included variety of tea and coffee was a nice touch. The cottage also offered 2 parking permits which was great for parking at the beach. The beach was nice and sandy perfect for kids.

perfect location, a few minutes walk to beautiful sandy beaches. very baby/toddler friendly with crib, highchair, fenced yard, which was wonderful for us. wished we'd booked longer!
