A very safe place for solo woman travelers. My home is within the city limits but away from the busy, noisy city centre. It has high ceiling and hence the heat effects are less inside. It is suitable for guests who wish for a calm, quite, peaceful and neat place. Our home is on the way to Alanganallur village which is world famous for "Jallikattu" or the Bull taming sport which takes place during Pongal festival in the month of January. It takes half-an-hour travel time to reach this village. Keeladi, an archeological site show casing the life of ancient Tamils and their well developed life style is about 20 km and 30 minutes travel from our place. Our place is en-route to "Sivanandha Meenakshi Ashram" and is about 20 minutes travel by public transport. "Trividia Tennis Academy" at Kadachanendhal Madurai, is at a distance of 4 km and can be reached in 10 minutes. "Bhramakumaris Rajayoga Meditation center" is 5 minutes distant. "Shri Ramakrishna Mutt and Vivekanandha Cultural Center" and meditation center, Reserve line, Madurai is at about 2 km from our place and can be reached by public transport from Iyer bungalow bus stop. It takes approximately 5-8 minutes. 3 MONTHS YOGA CLASSES ARE CONDUCTED BY THEM. A swimming pool with paid public access maintained by Jain Vidhyalaya school is at about 5 minutes drive from here. Our place is en-route to ISKCON temple Madurai (a lovely 15 minute walk) and Sri Sri Radha Mathurapati Temple which can be reached by government bus in 10 minutes. Suitable for budget spending. Tasty veg and non veg food are available within walking distances and they are also relatively competitive in price. High class restaurants are also available. Fresh Fruits and vegetables can be purchased from nearby shops. Black forest pastries are available nearby. Close to many tourist spots. Banks, eateries, ATM, hospitals, medical shops, departmental stores, textile shops, bus stop, auto stand, available at 5 minutes walk. The road towards Hawa valley is excellent for early morning walks or running and one can find lots of such people daily.
