Die Casa Congo wird sehr gut geführt, die Zimmer sind sauber, gemütlich und die Einrichtung durchaus auf europäischem Standard, was man vom Rest des Ortes leider nicht sagen kann. Obwohl der Ort als Walfahrtsort und mit den alten Festungen ein echtes touristisches Juwel sein könnte, wird nichts bis wenig in die Infrastruktur investiert. Auch die Tatsache, dass die Bucht als Schiffsfriedhof für ausrangierte Yachten genutzt wird, hebt nicht gerade die Optik. In der Bucht selbst sollte man nicht schwimen, da auch die Abwässer ungeklärt eingeleitet werden. Sehr schöne Badebuchten gibt es in einiger Entfernung, die mit dem Taxiboot zu erreichen sind.

We loved our stay at Casa Congo so much! The staff was amazing and helpful, the view and location can not be beat. We loved the nearby beaches and enjoyed kayaking through the mangroves too. It was a great place to vacation for us and we’d definitely do it all again!

It would have been nice to know that our room was literally above the karaoke bar which goes from 9 pm to 4 am on Friday night. Normally this would not have been a huge problem for us, but we happened to need to hit the road first thing in the morning. Even with earplugs in, we couldn't sleep, because the music and noise vibrated the whole room. This would have been something we would have planned around, had we known it in advance.
