Sandy was very communicative and helpful with the process. The space was lovely and comfortable. Would stay there again if I am back in the area.
Really cute home in a lovely setting. Lots of little touches, and Sandy clearly cares about making sure her home is spotless. We enjoyed spending time outdoors, loved that the firepit was all set up for us, and found everything we needed inside. We'd stay here again.
We were looking for a quiet, peaceful, clean home and a better alternative to hotels, where the AC/Heating and other guests are often too loud to get a good night's sleep - and/or there is often road noise from vehicles driving by a hotel that make too much noise. Clean, comfortable beds to sleep in are also at the top of the list. I have stayed at many AirBnBs and the people who own these often forget that the main rooms you use in these places - especially for shorter-term stays - are the bathroom and bedrooms and you you spend 7-8 hours in the bed. If the bathroom and bed are no bueno then I could care less about any quaint decorations ;-) or local attractions. This AirBnB was exactly what we were looking for and at a reasonable price. - Clean and nice bathroom with good water pressure - Clean and comfy beds - Quiet surroundings and a mile or two off the main road - The clean and useful full kitchen was a big bonus - The owner, Sandy, was very helpful and responsive.
We stayed during the Groundhogs Day celebration. Great location, super clean, very responsive host, everything as expected. The kitchen was well stocked, even going above and beyond with snacks! Everything worked (heat, lights, hot water) as expected. A+
This is a lovely spacious farm house, with beautiful wood floors and cabinetry. We appreciated the small touches, such as the flashlights in each bedroom, tissue boxes, snacks & coffee, and multi-colored bath towels. It was very quiet and good for sleeping. Our teenagers loved the upstairs bedrooms. Sandy asks guests to take their shoes off inside, so bring your slippers or warm socks if visiting in the winter. The electric fireplace was nice and the house was well insulated and cozy. Sandy was very accommodating to our requests.
Are you looking for a private, peaceful getaway out in a country setting? While maintaining its original charm with some updated renovations, this little farmhouse will not disappoint you! You will find this cozy farmhouse sitting in a valley surrounded by hillsides but is just minutes away from Historic Downtown Brookville. Our guests have described it to be “quaint”, “charming”, “perfect & a great location” with “plenty of space”.
For those who enjoy the sights and sounds of nature, you can expect to see or hear:
In spring, peep frogs...those peepers let us know that Spring has sprung.
Early summer mornings, birds will be singing their hearts out.
Mid to late August, crickets and tree frogs will make themselves known to you.
In September, the view across the hillside will be blanketed with goldenrod.
In October, the leaves will transform into brilliant colors.
All year long, deer can be seen grazing on the property and surrounding area.
~~*Pertains to June - Oct/Nov*~~
***Please note that we ask our guests to be very conservative with the amount of water being used (especially while taking showers--short/quick), as the filtered spring water that feeds the house can run low with dry summers.***
So please be sure our home will be a good fit for you during your stay.
***If you decide to take a walk along the road, please do be careful as cars tend to go faster than they should on this road.***
You will need a car to get around. In the winter time, it would be best and ideal to have a vehicle that is suitable for wintry/snowy conditions.
