First time in Oaxaca, we traveled with our 9 year old daughter from the US. The casa exceeded our expectations, luxury accommodations and 5 star dining. Isabel our host took care of all of our needs food, transport, activities. No request was too much. We did the Tamale class at Criollo, went to the area that is known for making the spirit animals, and say the pyramids. Overall a great experience.

Casa turned out to be the perfect place for our family. Our children absolutely loved the plunge pool and we felt so welcome and safe tucked back into the privacy of Criollo. Isabel and her staff were truly exceptional — warm, professional, detail-oriented, and so thoughtful. We would leave for the afternoon and return to a tidied residence and turned down rooms. Meals at the outdoor table were so delicious. What a rare treat to eat such exceptional food and not have to get dressed up and for young children to be able to move around and not feel constrained by the formalities of a fine restaurant. We did the tamale workshop with Marco and Lis and 10/10 would recommend. It was so fun and informative. We can hardly wait to make tamales for family this Christmas. We could go on and on. Suffice to say, the experience surpassed our expectations and we are so grateful to Isabel and the entire Criollo staff for making us feel so special and at home.

If anything, the photos do not do this place justice. It’s gorgeous, modern Mexican design in a beautiful setting. Criollo is a huge restaurant and Casa is tucked in a private corner. Private gardens surround it. The food is out of this world and they’ll do anything to make you comfortable. The heated pool is great for a soak at any hour. The property has chickens walking through the gardens, a wonderful bakery, and a world class restaurant. You won’t want to leave.

Really amazing stay at Casa, Isabel our host was super attentive and helpful…no ask was ever too much, she really made the stay brilliant. All of the staff at Criollo were super nice too (and a special thanks to Luis and Oscar who led our cooking class). As for the location, the Casa itself is special, very comfy, and a fab place to relax in. Oaxaca is brilliant to walk around and Casa is like 5-10 mins walk from the centre, so it’s a great location to, but equally, just hanging at the Casa is a very pleasant way to spend the day, great little plunge pool and sun lounging area, and a good list of activities too. Really enjoyed our stay, would highly recommend.

We were thrilled to have the opportunity to experience a four night stay at Casa Criollo. The home was everything we expected and more. We were shuttled from the airport and met at Casa by their household friendly staff & refreshing mezcal welcome drinks. The staff could not have been more attentive and accommodating. We found Casa’s beds comfortable, bed linens, towels, robes and furniture in great condition & everything appeared new or barely used. There were special touches of hospitality throughout Casa, such as various generous fresh fruit baskets & bowls, cake, infused bottled waters, complimentary mezcal bottle, first aid kits in each bedroom and shower/bath kits. Casa is a modern and comfortable home which I could go on and on about, but would not do it justice. It’s a place you must experience for yourself. A special shoutout to Casa’s household staff who made our stay extra special: Mil Gracias por sus atenciones, Magali, Isabel, Doña Elsa and Vero. Hasta la próxima! 💖
