What a great place to stay in Rome! It's right in the middle of a great neighborhood (Trastevere) where you can throw a stone in any direction and find a great restaurant to eat at. The neighborhood comes to life in the evening with live music on the street and great drinks. The location just couldn't have been better and yet it was perfectly tucked away from the bustling nightlife providing a private and quiet place to relax. I would ten out of ten recommend staying here.

Irene's place was excellent! The location is perfect and it really doesn't get any better in Rome. The apartment is on a quiet corner in Trastevere, but so close to everything the neighborhood has to offer. There are so many excellent places to eat & drink nearby at Piazza di San Cosimato. A 5 minute walk away from restaurants like Grazia & Graziella and Tonnarello (though the lines get super long & there plenty of amazing places to eat nearby) & the lively Piazza di Santa Maria. You can easily get off the tourist path & eat at more "local" spots in Trastevere, within the neighborhood & in the southern part of the Trastevere area- about a 15 minute walk away. There's so much to do in the Trastevere neighborhood alone, but the location is perfect for walking to other sights and neighborhoods in Rome. It's a 15-20 minute walk to the city center, a 30-minute walk to Vatican City, a 20 minute walk to the Roman Forum, etc. The apartment is very close to buses, trams, and taxi stands, but the best way to see Rome is walking it! The apartment itself is lovey and has everything you need. There were two of us and we had plenty of space! It was so easy to relax there in the late afternoons after a fully day of walking/exploring. It's also really nice to have a washer/dryer combo machine when you are traveling for a lengthier amount of time. All of the manuals for the washer/dryer, the microwave, etc. were left in a desk in the living room & available in English- easy! The bed is very firm, but comfortable! The apartment is located on the ground floor and has direct street access- so nice to not have to lug our bags up flights of stairs! The decor is great & the place is very cozy, a real home away from home feeling. Paolo was waiting for us when we arrived and let us in and quickly showed us around the apartment, where things are located, etc. Irene & Paolo were both very responsive and easy to communicate with before & during our trip. On the very last night of our stay at around 9:30pm, we discovered that the hot water heater wasn't working. I sent Irene a message & Paolo was over within five minutes to fix it! It was a very simple thing to fix- just a pressure adjustment that took less than a minute to fix. Paolo was in & out very quickly. Really great communication & hospitality that was much appreciated! We were there for 10 days and midway through, Paolo sent a Happy New Year message and checked in to make sure we were doing well/ didn't need anything. He was always available should we have any questions or needs. Check out was easy- we had the choice to have Paolo come pick up the keys or leave them in a lockbox just outside the door. I can't recommend this place enough and we will definitely stay here again when we return to Rome!
