Paul's place was perfect for our family get together. The view was spectacular and we loved spending time on the deck taking photos of the birdlife and enjoying the beautiful mountain view. The living areas were spacious and perfect for adults and children to spend time, play board games or watching TV. There were enough bedrooms and bathrooms to suit our needs and we loved the beautiful diningroom table and other wooden furniture. We found it convenient to do day trips from the house to various attractions in the Blue Mountains as it was very central. The Hartley historic village was very close and has heaps of interesting buildings, antiques and art galerries to explore. Paul was very friendly, easy to contact and quick to respond to any enquiry. We would definitely like to stay at his house again when visiting the Blue Mountains

We had such an amazing stay here. Beautiful house with amazing view. It has all amenities and house was well stocked with necessary things. Heaters, electric blankets, fireplace etc made the stay very cosy and enjoyable in cold weather. Paul is very helpful and responsive. I informed him that TV signal is not coming and he immediately arranged a person to check the issue even though I told him it was ok as we don't plan to watch it much. Perfect host he was. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone and whenever I visit next would prefer this house for my stay!

Sotherton cottage was an overall enjoyable place to spend a week, hampered slightly by a few minor issues. Upon arrival we discovered, as we made the beds (yes, we saw that we had to bring our own sheets) that the mattress protectors where quite stained, and at least one of the provided pillows was supposed to be replaced in 2013 (according to the information printed on it). There were also two empty water bottles under the beds, along with some dust. Throughout the house we also found lolly wrappers stuffed into furniture - some still containing lollies. The kitchen has a significant supply of items, but it (and the rest of the house) all feels a bit like a holiday home where everything that isn't good enough for the main house gets relegated. The main burner on the stove wouldn't stay lit - whether a gas supply or other issue was unclear. There was an enamel cup that had visible rust, and some loose boards in the decking. Overall good value, but in need of some love and care.

One of the best family holidays ever. The house comfortably held 8 of us with a log burner and beautiful views over the valley. Easy access to walks, restaurants and shops. Very well priced.

What a relaxing location! We booked to have somewhere to stay with friends and family after an event in the mountains, the house was beautifully situated with gorgeous views, and was comfortable and spacious. Paul provided plenty of updates before check in and was friendly and responded quickly. The house was easy to find and very peaceful, and was very reasonably priced for such beautiful views! We felt very lucky! We hope to be able to stay again one day.
