韦恩斯维尔(Waynesville) · 整套民居 · 7室9床8.0卫 · 可住14人 · The Historic Herren House
The Herren House is a historic home built in 1897. This grand house, just 2 short blocks from Main St, provides a peaceful, spacious setting right in the heart of town. Each bedroom has a private en-suite bathroom. Central air & heat, Ceiling fan, WiFi. Also enjoy the shared dining room with large dining table + Keurig coffee machine, living room + board games, additional bathrooms off the 1st floor entry hall, the back-garden courtyard, gazebo with dining table, & the wrap-around front porch.
The Herren House had much of the ambiance it did 19 years ago when we were there with family, however going from a Bed and Breakfast to an airb&b makes a significant difference. There was some inconsistency on the website about having a kitchen/no kitchen. The kitchen (we learned) was not part of the property, although we could use the coffee pot and refrigerator in the kitchen if we wanted to. The kitchen was filled with commercial equipment blocking access to the coffee pot, but we made it work. The sinks in each room had soap dispensers, however 5 of the 7 rooms had no soap in the dispensers, but had a "quarter"-sized bar of soap to last the weekend. The tubs did have filled soap and shampoo dispensers available. There were a couple of noticeable places that need repair. The ceiling in the "Mary Lu" room needs attention as well as the gutter on the front porch. Despite those little amenities that need repair or refilling, we had a wonderful time. Thank you. Waynesville sits very close to the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Parkway. We stayed at the Herren House for 2 nights while we toured the curvy mountain roads during the day. The house is literally 1 block from Main St in downtown Waynesville and offered multiple options for dinner. Although the listing doesn't state this explicitly, all 7 bedrooms have their own private full bath. If you have a large group, you cannot beat the price and the location is excellent due to the 1 block walk up to Main St of downtown Waynesville with multiple restaurants to choose from. I would recommend this accommodation w/o hesitation.
I've stayed at the Herren House several times and can't say enough great things! The house is walking distance to Main St, which has lots of good restaurants and cute stores. The location is quiet, safe, and at the heart of everything the area has to offer. Inside reminds me of being at my great-grandmother's home or a quaint bed-and breakfast (without the breakfast) filled with well-loved antiques. All of the exterior doors have automatic locks, as well as the individual bedrooms with their own unique combination to ensure privacy. Several of the rooms even have the authentic claw-foot tubs! The kitchen is nicely equipped with a fridge, microwave, and offers coffee/tea (which I thoroughly enjoyed drinking every morning in the courtyard right outside.) Although the house doesn't have any tvs, there is free wi-fi available plus lots of board games. Honestly, you probably won't find a nicer host than Rodney or a better rental (prices are incredible low!) than Herren House. 5 STARS!
We were very disappointed in the kitchen, but Rodney tried his best to make it better by coming by to explain the stove/oven, which we decided was too complicated to attempt. This is an industrial kitchen, not a house kitchen. All appliances are industrial. We didn't feel that the description of what was available to use in the kitchen was spelled out in the online add before we rented. It clearly needs to say - no oven/stove for in house cooking. Other than that the rooms were nice and clean and there was plenty of space for us. Other than needing a kitchen, we would go back to this rental.
