James was very welcoming and strait forward. It was a great place to land, rest, and reorganize after traveling in the van for several weeks. The back patio is a lovely place to sit and enjoy the sun and the birds and there are trails right from the property.

Frankly, I had a bad time here. The private driveway is not suitable for sedan type cars, the private entrance is not private, and the amenities are quite old. Even in the extremely isolated location, it did not feel private as there is much interaction with the host. He was also very inconsiderate of my needs and was disingenuous when discussing compromise. The redeeming quality was that it was fairly clean and spacious. Note you will have to drive 40 miles to civilization.

Best place to stay near Santa Fe, huge rooms, full kitchen & bath and a hot tub? Beautiful views, serene setting. What more can you ask for? James is an awesome host, you won’t regret staying here.

If you’re looking for someplace out of the way, where you can see a million stars at night, this is the place. And seeing them from a hot tub is all the better! James is an excellent host, going out of his way to make guests feel welcome. There is plenty of space, an indoor fireplace, an office area, dining room, kitchen, bathroom and a nice bedroom. The bed was very comfortable, the kitchen has all you need for a lengthy stay. And Cooper the dog is a wonderful companion. It was a slice of heaven.

This is a great value and provides everything that is needed for a several day or extended stay. James, the host, is really great. Informative, answers any questions quickly, and interesting to chat with. We'll definitely be returning and I can recommend this place whole heartedly.
