We managed to pick a very wet and windy week to be camping - but had a brilliant time nevertheless! The tent and site was brilliant, had everything we needed and more, and kept us dry and warm (log burner a real treat - who'd have thought we would have needed it in July??). Would highly recommend. Kids loved it too.
Absolutely loved our stay at Deer’s Leap Retreat! Perfect ‘glamping’ experience. Everything about the tent was so well thought out and done. The night we arrived it was absolutely freezing so we were a bit worried, but with the log burner and the thick bedding we were lovely and toasty - it’s so cosy! So impressed with the private bathroom. The shower was so good! Location was great - 15 mins to Dulverton and an hour to the coast. We booked it so spontaneously due to a cancelled holiday and we just had the nicest time :) thanks so much Heather & James!!
We had a great stay at Deer's Leap Retreat and would definitely come back and visit again! Everyone was so lovely and helpful and the tents and bathroom were extremely clean.
Heather's place is great for nature enthusiasts. There is an abundance of beautiful trees, flowers, animals (a very friendly family beagle, too!), rolling hills, and a pond. The glamping tents are perfect for a getaway from the city grind. Very little light pollution so great for star gazing - lovely waking up in nature to harmonious birdsong. Shower and toilet facilities are extremely clean, especially for being on a farm. Great that towels and essentials are included. Very generous selection of teas and coffees available, and they supply gas for all the cooking. Extremely good value for money and an absolutely lovely family. We can highly recommend booking here.
We really enjoyed our 2 night stay on the farm. The tent was very clean, with a cosy bed and heating. The location has a secluded beauty, with great views of the hills. The whole retreat was very peaceful, and as a city dweller it was nice to see the horses, chicken and cows which are nearby! Would definitely recommend.

We are a family lucky enough to live on beautiful Exmoor. 3 generations of our family live here at Deer's Leap Retreat. We love hosting other families on holiday. We have horses, ponies, chickens, cows and sometimes lambs or piglets here. Not forgetting our beagle, Poppy, who welcomes all our guests. It's beautiful here and we are glad to be able to share this perfect spot with others.
