Jay and Diane were great hosts. They were extremely kind, friendly, and accommodating. They were very quick to respond to any questions we had or provide ideas for activities. Since they live next door we were able to have many friendly interactions. Their home was wonderful and we hope to visit again soon.

If you enjoy swimming and water sports, the thing to do in Maine is to stay on a lake, where the water will be significantly warmer than the ocean and infinitely more enjoyable. However, you also want to stay NEAR the ocean, because the coastline is absolutely beautiful and you should not miss seeing it. Fortunately, at Jay’s house, you don’t have to miss out on anything! You are less than an hour away from Acadia Nat’l Park and the picturesque, coastal town of Bar Harbor; and the house itself is on a lovely lake with beautiful, clean water. The kitchen is modern and well stocked for cooking; the beds are comfortable; and outside there’s a grill, fire pit, and hot tub. Also, the basement kind of feels like a separate apartment so it‘s an ideal house for two couples. To top it off, Jay and his wife, Dian, are super-awesome, dog-friendly, amazing hosts, who were always on the ball and quick to answer if we had any questions. We were honored to be their first guests and wish them well!

Jay and Diane are awesome people- they truly enjoy company and were very open to us joining them at their firepit or sharing a dinner. This is truly a magnificent lake and setting to have a vacation.

Staying at this lake house was a real treat. We made great use of the canoe and SUPs, enjoyed the night sky, and otherwise took in all the peacefulness of this place. Jay and Diane were wonderful hosts, caring for all our needs, including lending us some spices that I had forgotten to get at the supermarket.
