Greenlands Barn is in a lovely quiet spot off the River Tone. From the doorstep you can walk along the river, go further onto the Somerset levels or do a circuit to the local pub in the next village. The barn is light and airy with a large kitchen diner & living room, king size bedroom, spacious bathroom, walled courtyard and private riverbank. There are mountain bikes and a 2-person canoe for use during your stay. Historic towns, countryside or just a rest by the wood-burning stove awaits you. The barn is part of an old farm which used to be part of the a system at Ham Lock. Coalharbour across the suspension bridge took in the coal, Ham Mills ground the flour and still has a working waterwheel, Ham Lock cottage controlled the lock and Old Ham Wharf Farm and the two barns were the front-of-shop for those purchasing flour or taking goods through the navigation with barges loaded from the Tone. You can see the remnants of this in the buildings and enjoy the riverside setting and abundant wildlife that has reclaimed the space.

Communication with Sarah was easy. The barn was clean and warm when we arrived. It was clear how to access the property. The welcome hamper was very generous, and we enjoyed the treats it provided. The surrounding area was beautiful and quiet. We had a great, relaxing stay.
Great host, great location and wonderful accommodation….!! The barn was spotlessly clean, and superbly well equipped. Sarah’s welcome hamper, plus included toiletries make her barn feel more akin to a higher end boutique hotel. She has provided everything you could need after a long journey. A beautiful little Barn with everything you could need for a lovely relaxing stay. The house was very well equipped and the little welcome box of treats was a lovely touch. We throughly enjoyed our stay here, wish it was longer!

We are close to the Somerset Levels, Glastonbury, Street, Bath, Clarks Village Shopping, Bridgwater Carnival, The Quantocks, Exmoor, The Bridgwater to Taunton Canal so great area for wildlife and walking. We are local for the Kings College Cricket Festival, Somerset County Ground matches and just up the road from Taunton Rugby Club. If you are attending a local wedding at Maunsel House, Hestercombe, Huntstile Organic Farm, Mount Somerset, Woodlands Castle or any in the local villages I’m more than happy to drop you to the venue if I can and help arrange a taxi for your ride back.
Taunton is within 3 miles and M5 junction 25 is 5-7 minutes away. Cycle route 33 passes the front door and the sound of bike tyres on tarmac is something you’ll get used to as many clubs cycle past the barn at the weekends having tackled the 13-bends downhill route from Knapp. Taunton train station is a 10 minute drive away, but please note there are no bus routes that pass the barn.
