Our stay at Catherine’s place was fantastic. Absolutely beautiful scenery and the space is very well designed. Had all of the amenities that you could wish for and the outdoor shower was very refreshing, even in the cooler fall mornings. Would be perfect for a group of four to six people. It was great watching the sheep and horses wake up every morning and the views were to die for. It’s a little bit of a distance to Akaroa, but we didn’t find it much of a hinderance to get to town when we wanted to do tours or get to a restaurant. Could easily spend a week here.

The views from the Black House are hard to beat, yet it's easy to access. The house is comfortable and well equipped. This is someone's home, not a bland Airbnb.

We had a wonderful relaxing 3 days at this beautiful spot on the Banks Peninsula. The bach is well designed and very comfortable, with huge glass doors around the living area allowing you to enjoy the beautiful views over the harbour and the hills. Catherine is a helpful and responsive host, and she gave us clear details of some lovely local walks to enjoy. We would highly recommend the Black House
