After booking, the host told us the room had a problem and that we should go to another place that he was "offering" (as if it was a better place). But this place was in completely another location and had no private kitchen like the one we've booked (after hours of research to find a place with the facilities we wanted). After we told him we wouldn't accept it without a kitchen, he offered us another one, which was also in another location and very ugly, with different facilities (more like a bungalow than an apartment). We said then we wouldn't accept it and kindly asked him to cancel, so we could have a refund and look for something else. This was the night before our check in and he stopped answering. The next day, already in the afternoon (we had checked out from our hotel and had yet nowhere to go), he said they wouldn't cancel and that we needed to go to their address to get a refund in cash!!! That's completely against Airbnb policy!!! Finally and luckily we got an answer from the Customer Service, which cancelled the booking themselves and refunded us. In times of Covid-19 and with tourists stuck in Bali and losing a lot of money with flight cancellations, this host was not honest at all and did not want to refund us even if the room we've booked was not available and he was offering something we didn't want. Be careful, do not trust this host!

This is a long one! Melati is really charming and lives on-site. If you can’t reach her right away, I believe Agung is the one who replies in the app? Either way, if there’s an issue, they work quickly and efficiently to fix it. Loved the place so much, I extended my stay and ended up living here for two months. It’s a cozy space, perfect for long or short term. 5 minute walk to Yoga Barn and about a 20min walk to The Center. It’s a bit tucked away from the bustle, but you can get there quick. Around the corner from a popular warung and cute cafe that’s perfect for a co-working space, Jatayu. Fortuna Laundry is a bit cheaper than the neighboring laundromat — they’re super sweet and my clothes always came back spotless and smelling fresh. Although it’s a family home, it’s extremely private. The view is serene! The only cons are personal preference: I would spot cockroaches on rare occasion, but it’s Bali. All they have here is a branded bug spray, so just give it a good spraying if you see them. The cleaning is very on-the-surface, so when I arrived, the kitchen and bathroom weren’t as clean as I prefer. But I bought cleaning supplies and went to work to my cleaning taste on the second day. I recommend buying some supplies to clean the bathroom and kitchen, if you’re a spotless freak like me 🙊 The bed caused pain in my lower back, so I bought an additional pillow. They really tried to get the WiFi to be better, but again, it’s Bali. If you’re like me and work remote, consider buying additional data on your SIM for video calls. Overall, if I didn’t have to leave due to the coronavirus, I would have moved in if I could. Will definitely be back and totally recommend their place!

Melati and Agung were incredible hosts. So responsive to my needs and welcoming while allowing my private space. Melati allowed me to check in before time and safely took care of my bags on the day of check out until I was home from a trip. The room is amazing. Lovely design and comfortable bed. The bathroom was big with a separate shower space and option for hand held shower head. You get your own balcony as well as kitchen which was really nice. The room can get hot in the late afternoon, so it was very helpful to have a fridge to cool drinks and food. The room is spotlessly clean. Great room for price. Highly recommend.

Very comfortable accommodation for the price. Very close walking distance to the yoga barn/Ubud centre. The accommodation is part of the family compound yet very private. You have your own bathroom/balcony and kitchen. They offer a cleaning service daily and also offered to arrange to get my laundry done (ie. drop off and pick up service) The hosts were very accommodating and I very much enjoyed my six week stay! Highly recommended if you’re on a budget and want something close to Ubud centre
