Lydia’s bungalow is a beautiful little private oasis away from the hustle and bustle of Port Vila town. The pool, big tree, gardens and ocean views were a highlight for us and make the place extra special and add value. It is basic but has everything you need, there is no AC and it is thatched roof so expect some insects though they have window and door mesh to keep mosquitos out. They offer housekeeping, general tidy up, replenish linen for longer stay which was really nice. The WiFi is portable which is an added bonus. The washing machine you have to access in their house but you could also hand wash. Harder to get to town if you don’t hire a car, but the walk to catch the bus in Mele is beautiful along the black sand beach. Friendly and helpful host Lydia makes you feel welcome and right at home. Would love to come back again one day and recommend to others looking for a relaxing break!

Villa Ducula is a delightful little cottage set in a relaxing tropical garden environment. The cottage is separate from the main home ensuring excellent privacy. The bed is comfortable, kitchen adequate and the view out to the ocean is delightful. Unfortunately strong winds and swell prevented us from snorkeling however we took full advantage of the pool. Lydia and Dave were a wealth of information in regard to where to eat, visit and places of interest. Plus we looked forward to the two friendly dog's visit each day. Thank you for a great intro into Vanuatu.

A beautiful bungalow in a lovely location. I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The views from the deck are beautiful and it was so relaxing going to sleep listening to the sound of the ocean. Lydia and Dave were friendly, welcoming and helpful with their recommendations for the island. If you don’t rent a car/quad, be prepared to either walk 1.6km to the end of the road to catch a bus or face fairly long waits for one to come by. It’s a lovely walk along a beautiful beach and Tanna coffee on the route is worth stopping at so it was no problem at all for me!

What a beautiful spot and excellent hosts! Tropical fish dart in the sea at the gate , birds sing in the trees of the gorgeously curated garden, this is a wonderful spot to relax. Lydia and Dave are fantastic hosts - happy to give you handy insights to the area and culture, but also mindful of your privacy, a perfect blend! If you want to be in the centre of Port Villa, or have a phobia of bugs (authentic grass roof keeps you cooler but you do get insect visitors) this may not be the choice for you. But if you want a peaceful and beautiful getaway, book this place quickly!
