Logement avec de belles prestations qui convient parfaitement à l'accueil d'une grande famille. Chacun peut y trouver confortablement son propre espace. Idéalement située pour découvrir cette belle région. N'hésitez pas à demander à Marie Hélène les bons plans.

We rented Marie Hélène’s beautiful house for two weeks in August and had a great time. It’s spacious and has a superb outdoor area with a pool and a number of large tables both inside and outside for large groups. The sitting rooms downstairs were huge and enjoyed by all for board and card games. Three of the rooms were fully en-suite and a further two had showers but no toilet. I think the occupants would have preferred to forgo the shower but have a toilet with a communal shower room. There is a fantastic market just a few metres away from the property which is open seven days a week in summer and has great produce and some prepared dishes. We thought the meat selection in the local supermarket was rather better however and the in-store butcher there was very obliging. There were three good boulangeries/patisseries close at hand. Restaurants were a mixed bag. There were a number of simple restaurants in the port area (about ten minutes walk away) where we had some good seafood (skate wings for one lunch were particularly good). Further away, La Crique on Susac beach was worth a visit – excellent tuna (nearly an hour on foot but maybe ten minutes by car). We also enjoyed a rather more special meal at L’Arrosoir on the beach at St Palais-sur-Mer near Royan. The beach at Nonnes was a little over ten minutes walk. It’s large and good for building sandcastles. As the beach is on the estuary, the sea bed can feel a bit slimy in places (sediment rather than sand). We preferred the beaches at St Georges and at St Palais-sur-Mer - more attractive sand/better for swimming. A memorable two weeks – thank you Marie Hélène for being such an excellent host.
