I was welcomed not long after I'd arrived & the offer was made to light the light the log fire for me, which I appreciated. There is also a heatpump, which is programmed to have the living area warm when you come through in the morning. A very comfortable historic home.

What a delightful place to stay. It has the beauty and charm of a period Homestead along with the modern facilities that we need now. The hosts left us some things to eat that we had not expected and really appreciated. I would just love to stay there again.

A most enjoyable stay at Centrewood House with its fascinating history and Jane was the ultimate host from the minute we arrived providing some delicious welcome treats. Having spent nearly three months travelling across the South Island this was one of our favourite accommodation stops.

A beautiful, but isolated location. Fortunately, we had contacted Jane before we arrived, to learn that there would be nothing provided for breakfast, and nowhere handy for an evening meal, so we were able to call at a supermarket to buy our own food. We've had AirBnB places before with no breakfast provided (which makes a nonsense of the original name of the company, 'AirBed & Breakfast'), but it was only because we asked, that we were able to be so happy with the outcome. We would stay there again.

I stayed for 6 days at Dave & Jane's place in January 2024. It is a really great place. It is an old house but beautifully renovated with all the modern amenities you would expect. Kitchen with a dishwasher. an inverter as aircon that can be used as heater, a new fridge, very comfy bed, etc, etc. The surroundings are stunning - the place is on the top of a hill with great views over the country side and the ocean. It is as peaceful as it can get. Dave & Jane are great hosts: very friendly and helpful. Sharing great ideas about what to see and do in the area. There is a supermarket about 10mins drive away where one can get anything you need. I had a wonderful time - and will be back !
