This was a lucky last minute booking for a weekend away and we're so glad that Sissinghurst Stables was available. Emma has designed the interiors to be beautiful, welcoming and yet practical for people on holiday. Very comfy beds, lovely cosy kitchen/sitting room, super terrace with all kinds of bird life. Our girls were sad to have only met the lovely dogs fleetingly and we'd love to come back if we're in the area. All messages to Emma were responded to very quickly and instructions for check in / out made it all easy. Thanks Emma.

Very lovely guest house, a lot of fun stuff to do with kids in 30 minute driving radius - GoApe, farms, castles, nice towns around. Emma is nice and helpful, the house is spacious and well equipped. Highly recommend.

We had a lovely stay in this beautifully decorated place. We felt immediately at home and really appreciated all the special touches in the place, e.g. the fresh flowers, chocolates, dog bath, the ping pong table— all of which made our trip very easy and relaxing.

We had to leave the property prematurely because of cleanliness issues. Though key surfaces, bed linens, etc. were clean, I would guess the property hadn't undergone anything beyond superficial cleaning in a long time. To be specific, there was thick dust and grime on things like lampshades, behind furniture, etc. and there were large visible cobwebs in the ceiling spaces. My wife has asthma and struggled to be comfortable in the space. The neglect was made more evident by the appearance of a mouse on our third morning, which finalised our decision to leave. It was a little distressing to have our family holiday cut short as it was and perhaps we could have done a better job with engaging the host on the issues. But in the moment, we were just very keen to leave and resolve the cancellation directly with Airbnb. In the brief conversation I had with the host, I was disappointed that she immediately pointed the finger at the cleaning staff, instead of taking responsibility herself.

We found The Stables to be very comfortable and homely and we enjoyed our stay. The playroom was fantastic for our boys (5 & 2), especially as we were struck down with illness and couldn’t get out as much as we’d hoped to. Emma greeted us on arrival and was always responsive both before and during our stay. The location was brilliant for us, especially convenient for a day trip in to London from Staplehurst, and visiting Bodiam Castle, which the boys loved. We had planned to visit Sissinghurst NT and Rye and Camber Sands - maybe next time!
