Newly renovated upstairs of a home on the bike path near Duck. Spacious master bedroom with King bed, en suite bath, walk-in closet. Open concept full kitchen-dining-living room 1200 sq. ft. of space. 1 1/2 blocks to beach! Dogs OK $35 each NO CATS, fenced yard. We offer 2 beautiful completely separate units, this listing is the upstairs space (downstairs apartment for 2-3 guests in separate listing). Walk to the beach, bike to Duck. Only the driveway is shared. Kayak excursions upon request. Easy walk to the beautiful private beaches of Southern Shores 1 1/2 blocks away. Use the bike path right outside our door to bike 3 miles north to Duck for amazing food, entertainment, shops, and sound side boardwalk. Head 2 miles south to Kitty Hawk pier, restaurants, bars, etc. PLEASE look at all the pictures- they are all accurate and of your upstairs Private Space (not shared). Large great room/full kitchen 24 feet x 24 feet with brand new stainless steel appliances, vaulted bead board ceilings, comfortable couches, laundry room with washer/dryer on same level. Outside shower, and old oak trees for shade in the summer. Enjoy grilling out after a long day at the beach. Beach chairs, umbrella, cooler, fire pit, fenced yard for pups (2 separate fenced areas one for upstairs guests and one for downstairs guests...no possible mixing of dogs or humans!). Listed as a “townhouse” because we think it is the closest representation of the property, but in actuality is is the private upstairs of a home, the completely separate downstairs studio apartment only shares the driveway with you. The downstairs unit has its’ own private entrance, a separate yard, separate outside shower, etc.

We loved our stay here! The place is so cute, clean, and cozy. Reece greeted us as soon as we arrived and showed us around, which was appreciated. The location is also great and completely walkable to the beach. My only note for fellow travelers with dogs: If you’re planning to take your pup to the beach, know that you can’t take them on the beach in Southern Shores between 9am to 6pm between Memorial Day and Labor Day. We’re used to staying in Duck, which does not have laws around dogs on the beach so we didn’t even think to look into this. Now, this is *not* the hosts’ rule so I do not fault them at all. We worked around this by driving down to Nags Head for each of our beach days, which was honestly no big deal since you can park right next to the access. We would have gone to Duck but there really aren’t any public beach access points or parking spots. Make sure you plan for that if you want to take your furry friend on your beach excursions. Overall, an amazing stay!
This is our 4th year renting from Reese and Casey. The place is ideal - walkable to an uncrowded beach and bike-able to Duck where there are restaurants and shops. The place is very well maintained and well provisioned, and our hosts are extremely helpful and responsive. We will be back next year.
We really enjoyed our stay at Reese + Cayce place with our dog. Reese greeted us at check-in - he is super friendly. Location was superb as it is within short walking distance to the beach. Looking forward to staying with them again.
Our stay in Cayce and Reese's home was fabulous! The house is beautiful— so sunny and welcoming. Even though it is near the road—a plus since it is close to the beach, restaurants, shops, etc.—it is tucked away and surrounded by trees which provide privacy. There is a lovely deck for sunning, the kitchen is generously stocked, and the living area is inviting. Our bedroom (with King-sized bed) and bath were lovely. The fenced in backyard was a plus for our dog, who quickly settled in! Cayce and Reese have gone out of their way to make this a home, not just a rental. The linens, kitchen appliances, dishes, photos that grace the walls—there are so many special touches. They made us feel right at home and responded quickly to every message. They are just delightful! We were sad to leave and will definitely be back! Thank you, Cayce and Reese!
Absolutely loved our time here. Reese and Cayce were great hosts. House was within walking distance to the beach, or a bike ride into Duck. Lots to do, great food. Fenced in backyard was a major plus. Hosts were very responsive, friendly, and helpful.

Bike path right outside the door, Beach 1 1/2 blocks away with marked crosswalk at Dolphin Run beside our home. Duck is 3 miles north (amazing food, bars, scenery...quaint walking village with unique shops, and a 2 mile long boardwalk that winds through the sound, natural areas, restaurants, and stores), Corolla is 15 miles north (Whalehead club, shopping, Currituck lighthouse), and then drive on the beach to Carova to see the wild horses. Head south 2 miles to Kitty Hawk (Pier, Wal Mart, Harris Teeter, ABC store, Food Lion). Kill Devil Hills is 8 miles south, and Nags Head 15 miles south. Very centrally located to all the amazing beaches of the Outer Banks. Access to 2 marinas, tennis courts, beach park with handicapped access, playgrounds
A car is necessary to see as much as possible- there are over 100 miles of coastline to explore in the Outer Banks. You can bike to grocery stores, shops, restaurants, bars in 2-3 miles. UBER and taxi are available

I grew up in the Sandhills of NC, and was lucky enough to spend weekends and holidays in Ocean Isle Beach. Began surfing at 13, moved to California after PT school and met my husband, Reese. He was born and raised in California, moved to Hawaii when he was 16 to pursue a surfing career. We moved to the East Coast in 2001, and settled in the Outer Banks 15 years ago for the surfing, fishing, kayaking, and outdoor lifestyle. Both of us are experienced surf instructors, and owned/operated Ocean Isle Surf Academy for 7 years. I enjoy making pottery in my free time. Reese is a carpenter/ build anything guy, and I Work as a Physical Therapist at OBXPT. We love traveling to surfing destinations where we can enjoy fun waves, good local food, and experience a new place the way locals do. We joined Airbnb to give people an opportunity to explore the Outer Banks the way we live, through everyday bike rides, kayaking, fishing, surfing, and eating at the best restaurants. We don't really do touristy things, and direct our guests to some amazing out of the way activities and sites to see.
