Thrudur & Johanna were great hosts. They were able to accommodate our earlier arrival time and met us at check in to show us around the house and how to use the pool and hot tub. They had a booklet of information at the house about different things to do in the area and great recommendations. They had even reached out prior to our arrival in Iceland with tips on where to shop and best sites to check the local weather. The house had everything we needed and more, and it was in a great location to explore the Golden Circle. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this home!

Great base to explore southern Iceland. 30 minutes or less to all the main spots. 2 hour drive to Vik and the south coast. Laugrvatn is quiet, has good food, and things to do. Pool is interesting, you need an hour to heat it up, but will stay warm once heated. Pay attention to the instructions when the hosts teach you. The extra shower downstairs helps out with lots of guests. If you know an Icelandic literature afficionado, this might be heaven for them.

Thrudur and her sister were the sweetest hosts we have ever encountered. They greeted us in person and showed us how to operate everything. They made sure to give us helpful tips on where to go for our hikes and gave us a hand when we weren’t sure and couldn’t recall the instructions on how to operate the hot tub/pool. The pool was a very nice addition and appreciated it after the long days we put in. This home is very near so much and is in a perfect location to venture the golden circle and the national park nearby. We highly recommend this home. Helpful hint: go shopping in Selfoss at the Bonus. The grocery store near the home is quite expensive.

We had a fantastic stay. The house was really cosy, clean, comfortable and great amenities. Plenty of space for two families of four. The Fontana was wonderful and we had a great meal at the local restaurant. The Northern Lights lit up the sky over the mountains and lake on our second night. We were a short drive from all the main sites on the Golden Circle. Johanna and Olafur couldn’t have been more helpful and welcoming. They were so kind - we will definitely stay here again if (when!) we come back to Iceland
