We loved this Airbnb! The house is beautiful and looks exactly like the pictures. It was close to all of the golden circle activities but far enough away to enjoy quiet evenings. The kitchen is very well stocked and had everything we needed for a short stay. Highly recommend!

This was our second time staying in this stunning house and I hope it won't be our last. It is a gorgeous property, beautifully furnished with a really well equipped kitchen. There are lots of extras, like spices, cooking oils, condiments and in the bathroom are shampoo and conditioner, washing powder etc. Beds are super comfy, there is Netflix on the telly and it's spotlessly clean. The position is perfect; all the highlights of South West Iceland are within driving distance, giving you the bonus of being in the middle of nowhere with everything accessible. And the best bit is the Fontana Spa at Laugervatn is a 5 minute drive away; it's open until 9pm so you can nip there at the end of a day's exploring after all the other tourists have left. (Or just drop into the house's own hot tub and watch the Northern Lights.) Maria Kristin is a great host, extremely helpful and quickly responsive. Highly recommended.

We have stayed at a lot of air b and b’s over the years and I have to agree with the other reviews … Maria’s Black Icelandic House checked every box! It was immaculate, charming, well stocked, aesthetically beautiful, cozy, comfortable and just so welcoming. I kind of want to live there! Wish we could have stayed longer than just two nights but it was a great central point in which to tackle a few outings in the area….golden circle, we went to Vik and did a glacier tour all while there. Sadly didn’t leave us much downtime at the lovely house. I also appreciated Maria‘s responsiveness with any questions I had from recommending a blogger that proved very helpful to local recs for food and grocery. Tak and hope to return one day soon!

We really loved the house! It’s beautiful inside and out - very nicely decorated and comfortable with everything you could possibly need! Lovely views across to the mountains and the lake. Great space for 6 of us - there were high winds during our stay which made the hot tub harder to use but we were happy to stay inside! Also a great place to see the northern lights and wonderful stars on a clear night. We had a great time.
