CASA ALECRIM is one of the two accommodations in the 6-hectare rural property “SÍTIO DAS ROLAS” which integrates in the nature tourism “SELÃO DA EIRA - Turismo Rural no Alentejo" where all houses are built according to an ecological concept, with high-quality standard and modern comfort, and the individual decoration and endowment reflects dedication to detail as well as functionality. All accommodations are well insulated and equipped to be comfortable in all seasons. Hence, they are inviting to enjoy not only the summer time, but also the particular beauty of autumn, winter and early spring on the Alentejo coast. "SÍTIO DAS ROLAS" is located in plain nature on the Alentejo coast, some 10-12 km from the nearest beaches and cliffs in Zambujeira-do-Mar, Alterinhos, Carvalhal, Praia de Amália and Odeceixe, and 6 km from the small town of S. Teotónio where all basic facilities of shopping and services are available. It is in an excellent base for hiking trips on the “Rota Vicentina" (which between S. Teotónio – Odeceixe passes the property) and local forest trails, and for day-excursions in all directions. The entire compound and both accommodations in "SÍTIO DAS ROLAS" offer an ample view over the landscape down to the Atlantic Ocean on the horizon, including sunrise over the hills of the Monchique Mountains and sunset over the sea. As there are no town lights, the star-twinkling night sky appears in majestic infinity. The outdoor space surrounding the accommodations transmits an atmosphere of tranquility that derives from the natural environment and ample green space with lawns (suitable for soccer and other outdoor games) and garden areas. The private pine forest with shady paths and picnic spots is a true adventure playground for children. The swimming pool (with diving depth) and a large sun terrace are embedded in a lawn and garden area, too, with a stunning panorama view down to the ocean. The barbecue area is separate, but not far from the pool. The adjacent wind-sheltered pavilion has a dining table for 8-10 persons and space for a second table. Adjacent to the very spacious CASA ALECRIM is the smaller corner house CANTO DO SOL which may host 2-4 persons. Both accommodations may be connected by removing a sandwich insulation wall near the respective bathroom areas, thereby creating an exclusive large house for 10-11 persons. The ample common space in “SITÍTO DAS ROLAS” is shared by the guests in the two accommodations, which, however, does not affect the privacy of either accommodation. Not only that both have their own private outdoor space, and the swimming pool area is large enough to easily accommodate the guests from both houses. But those who choose our nature tourism usually seek privacy and tranquility, and respect the same desire of the fellow guests. Apart from the accommodations and separate, the compound “SÍTIO DAS ROLAS” hosts the THAI AYURVEDA SALA which offers professional natural therapies based on Ayurveda and Thai Traditional Medicine. Last to mention are the other two sites which together with “SÍTIO DAS ROLAS” compose the nature tourism “SELÃO DA EIRA –Turismo Rural no Alentejo”. The exclusive country house complex SALGADINHO with the windmill studio O MOINHO and the two modern clay houses CASA PAVÃO and CASA PEIXE is located just opposite on the other side of the access lane. The Nature Paradise SELÃO DA EIRA VELHA with the small café “Perto do Paraíso” and the presently only guesthouse CASA CISNE lies some 1400m further down in a river valley in plain National Ecological Reserve. A slight deviation on the “Rota Vicentina”, halfway between Odeceixe and S. Teotónio, passes through the private forest and along the café.
