Stayed at Suite on Sanford. The owners/hosts were incredibly kind. The apartment's decor is inviting and warm. It's on the ground floor, ensuring privacy. The hosts are welcoming and laid-back. If you need assistance or recommendations, they respond promptly. This Airbnb is exceptional. Glad I chose Suite on Sanford, and you will be too if you book here.
The Suite on Sanford is a great find in a quiet and safe neighborhood. The apartment is cozy and well-appointed. Hosts Karen and Mandrake are welcoming, helpful and responsive to needs. During my 6-month stay, Karen came in to take care of the plants and to clean every other week. Karen is hyper-vigilant regarding any damages that are not normal wear and tear. Toward the end of my stay, this became a bit of an issue and the possibility of potential damage was mentioned frequently. When I checked out, Karen did a walk-through, found no issues, and still indicated that upon a deep cleaning after my departure, issues may still arise for which I may be held responsible. This left a bit of a “bad taste” for me.
You'll be so glad you stayed here! Spacious, immaculate, and very comfortable. Mandrake and Karen have gone out of their way to make the space very livable. Some AirBnB's are beautiful, but not comfortable. Suite on Sanford is beautiful AND has comfy chairs, couches, cushioned benches in the kitchen, and a great mattress. Light-sensitive night lights for when you get up at night. Nice and cool on hot days, which is a frequent thing in the DC area. The kitchen had everything I needed to make meals and clean up afterwards. Oregano from the herb garden enhanced my veggie omelets. Very well-appointed kitchen. Puzzles and games for when you just need to unwind. Close to Sligo Creek, and several other parks, very walkable in a green and leafy area. And close to all the great restaurants Wheaton has to offer. Last, but certainly not least, Karen and Mandrake were warm and kind hosts, always responsive quickly to any questions I had, and friendly. I would recommend this to anyone.
Staying at the Suite on Sanford was a great experience. Karen and Mandrake both went above and beyond to make sure this felt like a home away from home. The apartment was spacious and very clean. The kitchen came with all types of appliances (toaster oven, microwave etc.), and Karen even provided some snacks for the days you might be on the go! The bathroom was great and worked well, the shower also had really nice water pressure. The bedroom was large came with a dresser, two mirrors and a TV. Overall, this was a 10/10 experience and I will definitely be staying again in the future. P.S. Karen provided us with lovely herbs from their garden to use in our dishes during our stay! We made pizza and a pasta dish which definitely was even more flavorful from the basil she provided
This apartment is superb! Very spacious for two people and very comfortable. Doesn’t feel like basement apartment-lots of natural light. Beautifully decorated with some lovely personal touches. This was great for our visit to DC. Metro stop is about 15 minutes brisk walk. Thanks, Karen and Mandrake for being great hosts!
