A Minnesota summer is a quintessential American summer. And on the banks of crystal-clear Strawberry Lake in the far Up North, our one-bedroom, one-bath Strawberry Lake Cabin will entice even the most digitally connected guests to step away and enjoy the great outdoors like kids on summer vacation! Built by local craftsmen in 2013, our Strawberry Lake Cabin sits at the edge of Strawberry Lake, which is beautiful in all seasons but holds a special charm in summertime. Let us help you getaway. Too many to name! Mostly, we love the privacy and its secluded feeling in the dense trees, the big front deck facing the water, the private boat dock, and the lofted bedroom that feels like a tree house - a place where you can escape the rest of the world for awhile. At evening, step out onto the screened porch with a glass of your favorite wine and hear the sounds of silence with friends. Or, seat yourself around the fire pit with family, telling stories while making S'mores! Inside the cabin, the master bedroom is downstairs w/queen sized bed. Our loft with a view of the lake has a Casper queen sized bed. For those persons wanting to be digitally engaged, our high speed fiber optic internet connection has steady Wi-Fi 300 Mbps download and 30 Mbps upload speeds. Typically, our cabin... shaded by trees, well insulated, with ceiling fans & located in northern Minnesota stays pleasantly cool inside. On occasion, when the weather does heat up, you'll enjoy our cabin's new Mini Split A/C unit.

Another great stay at Strawberry Cabin! We had a much needed restful week in a beautiful setting. Very quiet and very private feel as well. Cabin was so comfortable, we loved the screen porch for when we had a few rainy spells. Took the boat out every day to fish, we had some impressive catches! Thank you again for sharing such a lovely space.
Nice and quite place for a good fishing location. Be careful with the mud though it’s everywhere out there.
We loved our stay. We've got 2 young kids at home and needed a nice quiet getaway, and this cabin provided. Tamarac nature preserve is just around the corner and provided a beautiful retreat to nature. The cabin was very clean, cozy, and comfortable. We definitely had a tough time leaving!
Great place, with a great host! All questions were answered thoroughly and felt very comfortable throughout our stay!
We enjoyed playing in the snow and watching videos from the collection when we weren't visiting relatives nearby. This is by far the best lake cabin I've ever rented. The owners have set it up well and it is maintained with a high attention to detail.

When I came to see the lot on Strawberry Lake, I was hooked. This lakefront property, though overgrown and in need of TLC, captured everything I loved about my youth in Minnesota - a thick cover of trees to mark the passing of the seasons and to keep the cabin secluded, a sandy lakefront for launching canoes, and acres of crystal-clear water. The four season cabin itself is of newer construction - recently built in 2013 and provides lots of amenities we didn't have back in my days of camping in the lake and woods country, including a full kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a downy bed for restful nights, radiant heat and air conditioning.
Our cabin is located 23 miles North of Detroit Lakes, MN. on the south shore of Strawberry Lake.
Getting around is by personal vehicle, although from time to time, sea planes land and takeoff on Strawberry Lake.
Our lakefront on Strawberry Lake has 150 ft. of shoreline. It's a natural wetland area with resident wildlife; groomed area leading to dock and sandy-bottomed lake.
Strawberry Lake's pristine water clarity makes it a premiere destination for swimming, boating and fishing. This spring-fed lake provides clean, clear water with over 12-15 foot visibility to the lake bottom.
The public access boat launch is a short 2 tenths of a mile from our cabin property. If you bring your boat, we have a boat lift for you to use at our private dock. If you need a boat to explore and fish the vastness of 1500 acre Strawberry Lake, we now have a 14 ft. Lund fishing boat, with 9.9 hp 4 stroke Honda motor for you to use at the following flat rates:
2-3 night stays - $80.00 (1st tank of gas free)
4 or more night stays - $180.00 (1st tank of gas free)
We continue to have available for your use, our 14ft. Old Town canoe, with seat backs, life jackets included in the cabin rental rate.
Consider a dawn or dusk trail bike or car ride to Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge, just 3 mi. from the cabin; then, walk, run or ride the miles of backwoods trails to view the exceptional array of wildlife - Bald Eagle, Nesting Osprey, Trumpeter Swans, perhaps even a Woodcock or Gray Wolf...all of which we've seen in the refuge, and so many more wildlife viewing wonders.
During the Winter months, Tamarac offers more hiking and wildlife watching on cross-country skis, snowshoes, boots or by car. Or, consider riding your 'sled' north across frozen Strawberry Lake and connect with the miles and miles of snowmobiling trails.
Itasca State Park (headwaters of the Mississippi River) is 42 miles from Strawberry Lake Cabin - a lovely 53 minute drive.

As a farm boy raised on an apple orchard in Stillwater, MN, I grew up loving the outdoors. With my father and grandfather, I spent my childhood hunting, fishing and camping in the woods 'Up North.' Though my wife (who grew up in Sonoma, CA wine country) and I now live in the Central Valley farming region of California, our love for woods and waters of Minnesota ensures that we make time for yearly visits to Strawberry Lake Cabin. With its tucked-into-the-trees setting next to sparkling, spring-fed Strawberry Lake, we've found no better place in the world for recharging together. And we think you'll agree!
