I loved my summer staying at Trudy’s place. It was such a unique experience to live on a vintage ranch right outside of Tucson. The house has beautiful views and several surrounding trails. The swamp cooler kept the house plenty cool in the summer, and there was an AC unit to go along with it on very hot days. There were some creepy critters throughout the summer, but nothing that wasn’t manageable…and thankfully I didn’t encounter any scorpions or rattlesnakes either. Trudy was an excellent communicator and an excellent host. Highly recommend!

I came to Trudy’s place for a summer season to work on art and to be in the ambience of a hot, desert environment. As Trudy’s listing states, her house is on the edge of Tucson as it converges on the Saguaro National Park. The desert landscape is alive with birds (including roadrunners), lizards, rabbits and javelina. Amenities are close if you have a car. Being on the ranch is like being off in your own universe with the desert and it’s mysteries. The thunder and lightening in the monsoon season is a particularly dramatic event to behold. The house is very comfortable and well-equipped. There is a nice shaded outdoor space in the back; perfect for watching the colors off the rocks as the sun goes down. Trudy was always quick to respond when I texted or called. She reached out to see how I was doing too when I had not communicated for some time. I didn’t want to leave when it was time. When I stay in Tucson again, I would gladly stay at Trudy’s place.

Love being outdoors? Okay with nature and wilderness? This is the spot. Amazing no-nonsense accommodations. Views with sunrise & sunsets over mountains, so bring your camera.

The overall stay was fabulous! We knew it would provide a one of a kind summer experience, so we accepted the desert dust and critters openly. As mentioned in the listing, the home is not kid friendly, but a perfect fit for a young couple, author, or artist. Its unique desert location provided a stunning view of the mountains especially at sunset. During the summer monsoons, incredible lightning storms illuminated and shook the whole house. Trudy was a fabulous host and truly made her home a comfortable place for my wife and me. A+ in our book!
