Our stay with Heba and Kristjan exceeded our expectations. We felt welcome and well taken care of. Heba’s suggestions for seeing the area were extremely helpful. Our only regret was not being able to stay longer. Bless-Bless.

Thanks to Heba and Kristján for sharing their home with us and also many interesting facts on Iceland and their family history! The house was spotlessly clean and the breakfast spread with freshly baked bread was amazing. We'd love to stay again if we're back in Iceland!

We were here the last night of a 3-day stay in Iceland and found it the perfect place to wrap up our trip. Heba was at the door to welcome us and give us a tour of the lodging. Guests stay in the upstairs rooms of what is sa private home in Stokkseyri, which is only about a 15 minute drive from Selfoss. Lots of family history and many heirlooms make for a cozy atmosphere. The beds and bedroom are comfortable and give you plenty of room to relax, and there is a central sitting area as well. Heba made a reservation for us at a Selfoss restaurant that I'm not sure we would otherwise have been able to get into at the last minute, and we came home to Heba baking fresh bread for the morning. Breakfast had lots of variety, including local smoked mutton to go on that very good bread. Heba's knowledge of Icelandic history and issues of local interest (like how to get to the airport when there is an active volcano en route) were both entertaining and helpful. If you're in this part of Iceland, this is a wonderful house in which to stay.
