Susie’s Cottage was absolutely perfect for us. We love rustic cottages and this fit the bill. We didn’t want or need lots of “stuff” that comes with staying in a resort. If you want that, this is not it. If you’re looking for a comfy bed, a bathroom and a spot to relax after a day at the beach, this IS it. Not a lot to do nearby but we found that to be perfectly okay for us. There are a couple gas stations/convenience stores, a fairly large grocery and some restaurants. There may be more things to do but we really didn’t explore around there. Try the Mexican food truck, it was delicious!!! And by the way, there is an osprey nest right outside the front door.

Susie Cottage was absolutely spotless. the bed was very comfortable and we enjoyed having our own space. We enjoyed our coffee out in the screened in patio.

Ellen’s country cottage provided the peaceful respite my soul desired. I appreciated the eclectic decor and can tell she is working hard to reimagine the historic space. The back deck was ideal for sipping on morning tea and indulging in yoga, whereas the chiminea in the common area served as my preferred nighttime lounging space. Understand that this is a somewhat rustic location. You will find dust here and there. Black birds and woodpeckers may awaken you. Bug spray is needed while outside. The responsive hostess offered the ideal balance of privacy and interaction. I throughly enjoyed tapping into her bountiful knowledge about local flora and fauna during my stay. Particularly interesting was the information I learned about Beatrice and Benedict, the local osprey who nest on her property.
