Ripostena is for people who want a breather from the rest of the world. Our family of 5 stayed for 5 nights at Apt #7 which has the best views from its terrace. It is suited for mobile people as there is a staircase leading up to the 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on the 2nd floor. There are 8 other apts/villa that cater to every travellers’ needs. We arrived a bit late but Giuseppe gave us a helping hand with our luggage and walked us through the apt and its amenities. We had a full authentic dinner prepared by the Nonna and her staff at €35/pax (2023). Giuseppe served us and about 15 other guests. He knows our names, made everyone feel at ease and is truly a gentle soul. Martina came by 2x to check how we were doing. She was an exceptional host from pre-booking to our actual stay. The long drive to reach Ripostena is only for the adventurous. Seeing a fawn prancing around the property as well as the road trips we had in the old towns and cypress-lined countryside was well worth it.

The panoramic view from appartment 7 over the fields and the lovely stone cottage in front is stunning. We especially enjoyed the sunsets on the terrasse. The pool is a short walk from the appartment and is even more lovely than the pictures. The appartment is next to the restaurant where the owners serve dinner every second night for guests exclusively. Giuseppe is extremely polite , friendly and really does his outmost to offer the best service. When we due to a heat wave had trouble sleeping they supplied us with extra fans, Thanks! Steep staircase to 2 bedrooms and bathrooms. Kitchen is well equipped. A shared washing machine (5EUR). You must drive about 15 min on a narrow gravel road to get there, so do your shopping on the way here. We enjoyed day trips to Florence, Siena and other smaller charming villages. Flexible self check. Only small downside is the 2 free roaming dogs that came to the terrasse to beg for food. But we recommend this place!

The place is breathtaking (the sunrise and sunsets are unlike any other) and Martina is a super great host! They helped us with a lot of things since we didn’t really know what to anticipate on our trip to the countryside. Every corner of the villa is also so aesthetically pleasing. Here are some tips we learned from our trip: The place is quite far into the countryside, so the lesson I learned is to book transportation (taxis) a few days in advance. Martina has provided a complete list of taxi drivers who are closer to the area you can get in touch with, including restaurants (really good recommendations that aren’t so pricey) and grocery stores you can go to. Really recommend you guys to drop by a grocery store to get food cause the place isn’t so easy to access. I think it’s like 30 mins away from the stores. But good thing is they have complete kitchen equipment at the villa. So glad we made this trip! It’s unforgettable.
