Overall, the home is nice. Very large and plenty of room for a large group. It is on a public highway which made it a little difficult to get in and out at peak times. Not a huge issue, however. There was some room for improvement in a couple areas: the bedding was very cheap and thin and I expected a lot more considering the price point (very reminiscent of a cheap motel); the downstairs bathroom door would not latch or lock… created a few awkward moments with a large group; there was not a sufficient quantity of basic toiletries provided for the week.

Overall, the property was good, but we were disappointed in a few key things. 1) The listing is advertised as 4 acres so we assumed there would be lots of quiet and privacy. The house is actually situated right off a very busy road. So even when you are inside (we had to leave most of the windows open since there is no A/C) or out on the back patio, you hear traffic - even early in the morning and late at night. The acreage is in the back of the house which is great - we just weren't expecting it to be as loud as it was at the house. There is also a house right next door on one side which wasn't a problem but would have been good to know. 2) There are a lot of little things about the interior of the house that felt cheap. The curtains in all the rooms barely cover the windows and are very thin so light streams in early. The curtain rods also were very flimsy and were constantly pulling apart when we closed the curtains, and in one of the rooms, the curtains weren't even on so we had to put them on ourselves. The pillows are extremely thin & flat. Also, not all of the bathrooms have hair dryers and the 2 master baths downstairs have tiny hair dryers (smaller than travel size - literally, the smallest hair dryers any of us had ever seen and aren't adequate for anyone not bald!) The screen doors in the bedrooms leading to the balconies are also rickety/difficult to maneuver. 3) In the kitchen, the listing says all items needed for cooking like spices, salt/pepper, etc. would be available. We went grocery shopping planning that at least a salt packet would be there but there was nothing. Also, the ice dispenser in the refrig was broken. 4) Be careful on the chairs on the patio. We sat down to breakfast one morning and my 70 year old father-in-law sat down at the table and the chair crumbled into pieces and he fell on the ground. 5) Upon check-in, there is a sign that says "enter at side door" so we did. The security alarm went off (the cleaning people had inadvertently set it and we called management to get the code which was resolved in 10 minutes) but the main concern was the side door staircase led us up to a small, lived-in apartment above the garage. We have no idea who lives there (there was shoes, clothes, and snack food left out) and that was never mentioned on the listing. We never saw anyone use it, but it was uncomfortable to discover it upon arrival and confusing (not sure why we couldn't just use the main door - we ended up using the main door all the time despite the sign). 6) If you have a lot of adults/couples, the downstairs is pretty much unusable, as it is all bunk beds with a living space but the TV down there doesn't work at all (not hooked up to a cable box/satellite/DVD). Overall, the view is beautiful and the land behind the house was great. The main living area and kitchen are wonderful and the rooms are adequate. If you're looking for a place to stay and you will have lots of kids, this is a good place to stay (due to the downstairs living room/bunk room being separate from the adult bedrooms/living room/kitchen upstairs), but if you are looking for a more refined, upscale experience, there are better places for the money.

This home is absolutely gorgeous. Well designed and thoughtful planning throughout. More than enough room for our party of nine. The backyard and the river and Mountain View’s are stunning. The location is great. All in all we had a fantastic time. It is a bit tough to find the driveway, but once you do, you’ll be happy to find your home away from home!

This property is gorgeous and well located. Lots of amenities, and comfortable sleeping. We only had six guests but the property would easily accommodate a dozen or more. Very well set up for a ski vacation with racks for the skis and great changing room. Garages are spacious. Host had sleds available for sledding down to the river in back which were put to good use. Would be a great summer vacation location as well. Feels like you are at home!

Stunning scenery and home! Plenty of room and facilities for guests. Fair amount of work required given the cleaning fee - especially in the snow. WiFi is useless. Still made for a great stay.
