Michele and his wife Tiziana were very friendly. He was extremely understanding when we arrived somewhat late having got a bit lost on the way. The room was very big with a private terrace offering a great view of the city and the surrounding hills and valleys - a good spot for a glass of wine before bed. The bed was comfy and everything was very clean. There was a good spread for breakfast each day, with a selection of cereals, fresh pastries, yoghurt and fried eggs on offer, though the highlights were the cake and bread freshly baked by Tiziana. Michele had kindly prepared a short introduction to the city which helped us get our bearings. He also left us a book of nice and not too demanding walks around the area. We tried the one to Monte Pacciano, which was very pretty and not too arduous, with spectacular views. The B&B is a 10-15 minute drive from Perugia, where there's free parking very near the Etruscan gate. It's also handily placed for the wealth of historic hilltop villages dotted around Umbria, being about 30 minutes by car from Assisi and 1h30 from Orvieto. Perugia itself was very attractive and pretty lively, even before the chocolate festival got underway. It has a great mix of architectural styles, several good museums and galleries, and incredible views of the rolling countryside and distant mountains. Michele recommended some restaurants, and the Trattoria del Borgo didn't disappoint, with a good range of reasonably priced traditional dishes. We also found some good bars with live music and excellent wine. We'd definitely recommend staying here, whether you want to explore the surrounding countryside or just use it as a base for visiting the many historic villages in the region.

Michele and his wife were extremely helpful to us. meeting us at a gas station and leading us to their beautiful home. One night they ordered pizza and beer to be delivered for us, and another night, we used their georgous kitchen to microwave dinners and use their kitchenware. Michele and his family were fantastic hosts. The room was spotless and modern, with a gorgeous view of Perugia from the spacious second-story patio. We felt instantly at home and well-taken care of from the moment we arrived. Detailed instructions on how to get to Perugia, suggestions on sites to see for our short stay, as well as dinner recommendations (and a reservation) made us feel so welcome. The breakfast spread and coffee in the morning, wireless access, spacious shower and bathroom were unexpected but welcomed after our long journey. I would recommend "Once Upon a Time in Perugia" to anyone looking to stay in the region, and hope to return there myself some day as well!

It was my first try to book a ropm through Airbnb.We stayed there with my family (6 person) and we enjoyed too much.the price was wonderful. Everything was perfect,the rooms are more than clean and also bathrooms are clean and good. It's difficult to reach without car,but if you have a car it takes only 5 minjtes to arrive to city center of Perugia. The host family is so cute and helpful.The owner came to pick up us up to highway.He and his wife are so gentle. We filled ourselves at home.Thanks a lot.
