Direi che non ci sono cose negative, Annelie super amichevole e disponibile. Colazione direi eccellente accompagnato il tutto con un bel paesaggio ! Consiglio per una coppia amanti della natura e spensieratezza

Ill Grotto is een pareltje.. Het uitzicht adembenemend de veranda in de perfecte sfeer, het uitgebreide ontbijt, het zonnetjeterras met showerdouche.. Annelie is een geweldige gastvrouw waar je op kan bouwen, oog voor detail en zeer gastvrij.. echt zeer de moeite! Wij komen zeker nog een keer terug, hoop ik😃

We loved this B&B. Annelie and George were terrific. The place was quiet with great views. The breakfast was fabulous. All around it was a great place to venture out into Umbria

What a find! Annelie and George were fantastic hosts. We came to Umbria and booked quite last minute, not knowing the areas or towns well. It turned out that il Grotto was perfectly situated. It's very short, easy drives to a number of hillside towns and wine farms (you do need a car as it is in the countryside - bonus is free parking) We did short day trips and wine tastings before coming back to our room and relaxing. The view from il grotto is amazing and they have built a lovely terrace with lounge chairs and an outdoor shower overlooking olive trees and the town of bevagna (and more). It's also a nice breezy spot for the hot summer days! The rooms can get a bit hot during the day but they have fans and are very nicely kitted out. We had 3 dinners at il grotto and they were all fantastic! Plus the biggest breakfast you'll get in Italy. Annelie is a great chef and we are very happy to have eaten there instead of venturing further out. A truly fantastic spot for a relaxing few days - could easily stay just there without doing any sightseeing, but Umbria is a really beautiful district. Highly recommend everything about this place, and you will have fun chatting to George and annelie, even if it is in broken English/Italian :)

My wife and I spent 3 wonderful days at Il Grotto as part of our fantastic European honeymoon. Annelie and George were the most wonderful of hosts. The Il Grotto is a picture-perfect location, overlooking the fields and villages of Umbria. Our bedroom was gloriuosly well-appointed, with a wonderful breeze and clean, modern facilities. The grounds are like something out of a movie (given Annelie's set-design background, it's so easy to see her artistic touches and attention to detail everywhere). The patio area a short walk from the house provides a perfect panorama to the countryside...a view that couples perfectly with Umbrian wine and Genovesean pesto. At night, Il Grotto is illuminated with cafe lights that add an air of sophisticated ease to your evening pursuits. The atmosphere induces poetry. Perhaps the most memorable part of our time at Il Grotto was the food. The breakfast feast is amazing. Fresh cheeses, fruit, yogurt, local cured meats, home-brewed cappuchino...the list goes on. We stuffed ourselves every morning. And a note of advice: stay for dinner. You may be tempted to hit the ristorantes in Bevagna. While they were fantastic (of course), Annelie's menu is simple and refined. She is a world-class chef. Allow her to create a menu for you, and she will blow your mind. We had 14 dinners in Europe. Our dinners at El Grotto were by far the best and most memorable. Fresh ingredients, classic Umbrian style, and Annelie's culinary expertise all create a meal so satisfying you'll literally close your eyes and understand what "dolce vita" truly means. If you can book a few days here, do it; once word gets out, Annelie & George's gem will be booked solid for years to come.
