The neighbourhood really does have the best of both worlds - in one direction and only a few minutes walk there is easy access to the city centre, Lancaster Castle and transport links and in the other, again only minutes walk away, you find yourself in the tranquility of the community orchard and FAUNA, the local nature reserve. Despite being so central, the road on which the house is situated is not a main road and therefore quiet. The location also means this is a perfect stop off for those en route to/from the Lake District/Scotland.

One of the features my guests love about the house is its location. The house is just 3 minutes walk from the railway station (with direct trains to Manchester Airport and London Euston) and 6 minutes walk from the city centre, so it's extremely convenient for the pubs, restaurants, shops and access to public transport.
Lancaster University campus is situated 3 miles south of the city centre and there are regular buses (about every 10 minutes in term time) from various stops in the city centre. Buses 2,2a,4,4a to the university take a slightly longer route. Buses 3 and 42 take a more direct route.
The Royal Lancaster Infirmary is about a 15 minute walk away.
On street parking is usually readily available for residents and their guests and a visitor parking permit is included in the cost of your stay if staying short term. Longer term guests will need to pay £10 every 30 days for a parking voucher.
The house is also well placed for access to the M6 making the Lake District accessible in around 40 minutes.
