Just outside the house to the road, there’s field with plenty of sheep’s roaming. About less than 10 mins walk to a fish and chip takeaway and convenient store. Traveling alone is fine without heavy luggage as rooms need to climb upstairs. Host is generous for the use of kitchen for cooking and living room (if it’s not under construction). During cold days, do ask host how to turn radiator on as it’s controlled else where. Overall good trip!

I really enjoyed staying at Rosaleen's. I was a bit worried about how I would get along living in someone else's house for six weeks but it went very well. Rosaleen is very friendly and generous with her house. The shower and laundry machine are excellent. The kitchen is well equipped and spacious. The house is quite big, so you have your own privacy, and Rosaleen keeps it nice and clean. The location is excellent. It is 10-15 minutes walk from the railway station and the town centre. Ten minutes walk from a the bus that takes you to the uni. Beautiful running and walking paths next to the house.

Strongly recommended! Rosaleen is a very nice lady, and the location of the house is good. The room is actually more spacious than the picture shows in Airbnb website. ALDI is just 3 minutes walk.

Rosaleen is a very nice and thoughtful host. I've had problems with the trains while trying to get to Lancaster and Rosaleen was communicative and understanding. The place itself was beautiful, a very nice Victorian house right next to the river on a quiet street. She had a list of things I could take while I was there (tea, coffee, milk and such) which was really appreciated. She also allows travelers to use the washing machine, which was a real life-saver.
