Get off-the-tourist track and live as rural Nicaraguans do- simply and happily. Stay with a Nicaraguan-American family on an ecological farm in the countryside with an ocean view and access to a secluded waterfall. * NOTE We do not maintain separate airbnb listings for each of the beds available in this dorm. If the dormitory is booked or you would like to stay with friends, there are plenty of beds available. You can check out our other sites on the net under the name Finca Joco Mico for directions. **When you book a bed, please refer back to your reservation page to get detailed directions to the farm via public and private transport. Amenities are clean and basic. It has electricity, fan, traditional tijera folding beds, and tile floors. Fresh air flows through the room. There are plenty of activities to do in our humble Nicaraguan village. Or, just relax and take a break from traveling. SPANISH IMMERSION - ADVENTURE TOURS - YOGA - WATERFALLS Your stay includes coffee/tea and seasonal fruit in the morning. Initial guided tour of waterfall and our village is $4. You may go to the waterfall as often as you like thereafter. Meals: We use fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs from our farm when they're in season. Breakfast: $3 traditional Nicaraguan breakfast Lunch: $4 usually vegetarian Dinner: $5 non-vegetarian includes either fresh fish, chicken, or beef. Accomodations: 6 single beds, fan. Ecological composting privy located near the room. Bathing is usually down at the river or you can take a bucket bath near a fruit tree (water is precious in these parts!) Internet: We now have a fast 4G cellular data connection which we can tether to guests from our cell phone via wifi. Cost is $1/hour or 50MB of data transfer. If you plan to use the Internet regularly on the farm, we recommend that guests bring an unlocked smartphone and buy a local prepaid SIM card (about $2) with a prepaid data package. Activities: Take a motorcycle tour with our local guide Take Yin/Yang Yoga classes Practice your Spanish Swim at nearby waterfalls Eat local Nica cuisine Learn about sustainable farming Visit our local beaches on the Pacific Ocean Play Nicaraguan card games, try a hand-rolled cigar, and much more... Note: Buses run to our farm 4 times and day and costs 15 cordobas. Mototaxis also run all day from Diriamba and costs about 150 cordobas. The farm is not difficult to reach and is conveniently located only 1.5 hours from Managua.
In the middle of nature, full of wildlife sounds, waterfall, friendly host with deeper view towards self
Defiantly felt like we got a true Nicaraguan experience jasmina is a really good cook food was grate and defiantly felt like we learned a lot about eco farming really good experience
Jeff & Jasmina's place is truly a gem and if you are looking for a clean non touristy Nicaraguan experience full of culture, great food, private beaches, and beautiful waterfalls; just to name a few, this is definitely the place to stay. Thank you Jeff &Jasmina
Our local community has about 13 families. They are charcoal producers, cattle ranchers, farmers, and local merchants. The women wash clothes down at the river and guests are welcome to join in if you need to wash clothes.
There are buses that run 4 times a day between the farm and Diriamba. The village is easily accessible on foot.
We are located between Managua and Granada off the Panamerican Highway. From the Managua airport, you can take a taxi to Diriamba for about $50-$60.
You will get detailed directions to the farm from Diriamba after you book.
自我介绍
Welcome to our finca! Around these parts, we love ecofarming, yoga, ukulele, beach trips, and of course receiving guests. Lifelong learning - only when we're not farming, is what we love and we hope to share a part of the life here with you. A little help from youtube university and books certainly help due to our remote location. Once an airbnb guest and Zen buddhist practicioner was wearing a wristband with the message, "Live Joyfully". We couldn't agree more.
