Phil and Linda Teller moved to Kettle Falls in 2014 to help a friend buy a house. We found a real treasure of a place, right on Lake Roosevelt, and with our friend, decided to convert the upper level into a B&B, while she lived downstairs. At the same time, Phil and Linda bought a farm on the other side of town. In early 2016, our friend got a job elsewhere and moved to follow her career. We (Phil and Linda) considered options at that point, and we SO enjoyed hosting B&B guests, we decided to continue the business and build on it. Today, we have the original "Riverwood at Lake Roosevelt" house, with 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a commercially permitted kitchen, shared living/dining/decks/entertainment area, and a large side yard with a spectacular view. Seeing a demand for extended stay rentals in the area, we also purchased a house .1 miles up the road that does have a view of the lake but is set back into the woods...a nice forested retreat. This is the "Lakeview on Columbia" house, with 3 bedrooms (one is a suite with 2 beds and shared bath), 3 bathrooms, and shared kitchen/living/dining/deck areas. Between the two houses, we are now able to meet a variety of needs for travelers! On our farm, we try to grow/raise as many of the ingredients as we can for breakfast at the B&B, and much of the rest we acquire from local farmers or the organic/local section of our locally-owned grocery stores. We are firm believers in supporting local and small businesses! As further local support, we have a collection of menus and pamphlets from nearby restaurants and can offer suggestions for the "good" places to go! Our sincere wish, as we were setting up these two houses for guests, was to create a place that would provide a great space for people who are looking for serenity and relaxation in a beautiful location, where the furniture is comfortable and the ambience welcoming enough to feel like you are in your home away from home. It is a place where WE would want to stay and keep coming back! Since we are always looking for the "hidden treasure" places that are "off the beaten path" when we travel, we have found that those are the types of guests who find this place most appealing. Besides cooking and cleaning for our guests, we both have part time jobs which serve the community, so we've become experts at juggling schedules, but you may only see one of us during your visit. A nearby friend/neighbor (she is delightful!) has also partnered with us and fills in occasionally when needed.
