The Snug is a perfect retreat. A few minutes walk from the South Downs National Park, close to Lewes with its historic landmarks, pubs, independent shops, castle, river Ouse, restaurants, cafes and famous Harvey's brewery. We are close to Sussex Uni and Brighton is only a 12 minute car ride away, making The Snug a great location for sight seeing, culture, beaches and walking. Brighton and Hove's AMEX football stadium is within walking distance. Excellent public transport links from The Snug. The Snug is a self contained cottage annex to our Victorian Farmhouse. It is a private gated space with its own entrance. Cosy and homely and has been recently renovated sympathetically to keep as many original features as possible. Most furniture has been reclaimed or purchased locally. Rooms offer a space to relax and unwind, with luxury pure wool quilts, cotton bedding, wool rugs and comfortable throws for and added touch of luxury. Appliances, furniture, soft furnishings are eco friendly and sustainable where at possible, this is really important to us at The Snug. All cleaning products and personal hygiene products that we supply are kind to the environment.

A dear friend is partial to using 5 words to best describe something. Here goes with mine for our stay at this delightful Airbnb. Stylish - as soon as we pulled into the drive we were captivated by the garden with it’s natural cottage charm. The pink front door is super cute which leads to the beautifully restored Snug. Exposed beams, fireplaces, tiled floors and lots more original features. Comforting - A wonderfully cosy space with little log burning style heaters for the chilly April evenings. Location - The location was brilliant for the centre of Lewes and the surrounding South Downs. It’s close to the A27 but quiet enough to ensure a relaxing stay. Authentic - Eco-friendly toiletries, a wildlife friendly garden with beautiful dogs and an equally beautiful cat, not forgetting some top-notch homemade brownies and Tulips for our arrival. Caring - Simone and Matt were such welcoming hosts. Thanks for the great tip to walk around Stanmer Park and for making our stay so special.
Lovely little spot for me and the puppy. Lovely and cosy, with good access to the walls. Simone gave me some fab places for walks and was really helpful, and she was not kidding when she says best ever brownies!
Lives up to its name of the snug! Wonderfully decorated and so cosy! Everything we needed and Simone is a great host.
Lovely place, tastefully decorated. Very clean, a nice space to bring in the New Year - birds outside the window and walks on the Downs.
A very cosy warming place to stay. Better than the photos, they don't do it justice. The decor is beautiful and very well thought off. The garden/land around the snug is amazing and makes you feel very in touch with nature. The location is close to a main road but the sound insulation must be of very high quality in the Snug because you can't hear a thing from outside. When taking the slip road to get to the Snug, it's at the Esso next to the starbucks, go to the right of the Esso and continue your way down, theres another road between the Esso and Starbucks but that is the wrong road so don't take that one. Simone was very friendly, and it was great to stay here.

As we are close to the A27 you will hear road noise when outside in the garden.
Parking
There is space on the driveway for guest parking.
Bus Routes
There are bus stops on both sides of the A27 right outside of The Snug. From these stops, you can catch buses on the Regency Route (28 and 29) which can get you to Brighton and Lewes.
Train Station
Lewes train station is the nearest (2.9 miles), with direct routes to Brighton, London and Gatwick Airport.
